I prefer mostly the Pranayama, the breathing daily routines, easy but very effective. Kapalbhatti and Anulom Vilom are main master pranayama. Bastrika I like to do for 2 minutes at fast pace.

Jaxa announced on Friday that it has terminated operations of the SLIM (Smart Lander for Investigating Moon) probe, after the mission exceeded its initial goals. The probe managed to withstand the extreme temperatures of three lunar nights, demonstrating results beyond expectations.

The probe successfully performed a precision lunar landing on January 20, positioning Japan as the fifth country to land on Earth's natural satellite, after the United States, the former Soviet Union, China and India.

Large language models (LLMs) can write essays and solve equations in seconds. They can synthesize terabytes of data faster than humans can open up a book. Yet, these seemingly omniscient AIs sometimes fail so spectacularly that the mishap turns into a viral meme, and we all rejoice in relief that maybe there’s still time before we must bow down to our new AI overlords.
The failure of large language models to understand the concepts of letters and syllables is indicative of a larger truth that we often forget: These things don’t have brains. They do not think like we do. They are not human, nor even particularly humanlike.
Most LLMs are built on transformers, a kind of deep learning architecture. Transformer models break text into tokens, which can be full words, syllables, or letters, depending on the model.
“LLMs are based on this transformer architecture, which notably is not actually reading text. What happens when you input a prompt is that it’s translated into an encoding,” Matthew Guzdial, an AI researcher and assistant professor at the University of Alberta, told TechCrunch. “When it sees the word ‘the,’ it has this one encoding of what ‘the’ means, but it does not know about ‘T,’ ‘H,’ ‘E.’”
This is because the transformers are not able to take in or output actual text efficiently. Instead, the text is converted into numerical representations of itself, which is then contextualized to help the AI come up with a logical response. In other words, the AI might know that the tokens “straw” and “berry” make up “strawberry,” but it may not understand that “strawberry” is composed of the letters “s,” “t,” “r,” “a,” “w,” “b,” “e,” “r,” “r,” and “y,” in that specific order. Thus, it cannot tell you how many letters — let alone how many “r”s — appear in the word “strawberry.”
This isn’t an easy issue to fix, since it’s embedded into the very architecture that makes these LLMs work.
TechCrunch’s Kyle Wiggers dug into this problem last month and spoke to Sheridan Feucht, a PhD student at Northeastern University studying LLM interpretability.
“It’s kind of hard to get around the question of what exactly a ‘word’ should be for a language model, and even if we got human experts to agree on a perfect token vocabulary, models would probably still find it useful to ‘chunk’ things even further,” Feucht told TechCrunch. “My guess would be that there’s no such thing as a perfect tokenizer due to this kind of fuzziness.”

The Southern Environmental Law Center sent a letter this week to the Health Department in Shelby County, where Memphis is located, and to a regional office of the Environmental Protection Agency on behalf of several local groups, asking regulators to investigate xAI for its unpermitted use of the turbines and the pollution they create.

I prefer mostly the Pranayama, the breathing daily routines, easy but very effective. Kapalbhatti and Anulom Vilom are main master pranayama. Bastrika I like to do for 2 minutes at fast pace.

Yes I'll give you the whole series of daily pranayama, easiest and very effective. Start with minimum always, then increase it to 5 minutes (Kapalbhatti and Anulom Vilom) each. Even these two alone if practiced daily, super amazing and nothing else needed for a healthy life.

Jaxa announced on Friday that it has terminated operations of the SLIM (Smart Lander for Investigating Moon) probe, after the mission exceeded its initial goals. The probe managed to withstand the extreme temperatures of three lunar nights, demonstrating results beyond expectations.
The Japanese space agency plans to release a full report on SLIM's achievements next fall. The probe successfully performed a precision lunar landing on January 20, positioning Japan as the fifth country to land on Earth's natural satellite, after the United States, the former Soviet Union, China and India.

The failure of large language models to understand the concepts of letters and syllables is indicative of a larger truth that we often forget: These things don’t have brains. They do not think like we do. They are not human, nor even particularly humanlike.
Most LLMs are built on transformers, a kind of deep learning architecture. Transformer models break text into tokens, which can be full words, syllables, or letters, depending on the model.
“LLMs are based on this transformer architecture, which notably is not actually reading text. What happens when you input a prompt is that it’s translated into an encoding,” Matthew Guzdial, an AI researcher and assistant professor at the University of Alberta, told TechCrunch. “When it sees the word ‘the,’ it has this one encoding of what ‘the’ means, but it does not know about ‘T,’ ‘H,’ ‘E.’”
This is because the transformers are not able to take in or output actual text efficiently. Instead, the text is converted into numerical representations of itself, which is then contextualized to help the AI come up with a logical response. In other words, the AI might know that the tokens “straw” and “berry” make up “strawberry,” but it may not understand that “strawberry” is composed of the letters “s,” “t,” “r,” “a,” “w,” “b,” “e,” “r,” “r,” and “y,” in that specific order. Thus, it cannot tell you how many letters — let alone how many “r”s — appear in the word “strawberry.”
This isn’t an easy issue to fix, since it’s embedded into the very architecture that makes these LLMs work.
TechCrunch’s Kyle Wiggers dug into this problem last month and spoke to Sheridan Feucht, a PhD student at Northeastern University studying LLM interpretability.
“It’s kind of hard to get around the question of what exactly a ‘word’ should be for a language model, and even if we got human experts to agree on a perfect token vocabulary, models would probably still find it useful to ‘chunk’ things even further,” Feucht told TechCrunch. “My guess would be that there’s no such thing as a perfect tokenizer due to this kind of fuzziness.”

The Southern Environmental Law Center sent a letter this week to the Health Department in Shelby County, where Memphis is located, and to a regional office of the Environmental Protection Agency on behalf of several local groups, asking regulators to investigate xAI for its unpermitted use of the turbines and the pollution they create.

OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer wrote in a post that the company was "shocked the SEC would make such a sweeping move against creators and artists" but that they are "ready to stand up and fight."
Finzer calls it a "move into uncharted territory."
"By targeting NFTs, the SEC would stifle innovation on an even broader scale: hundreds of thousands of online artists and creatives are at risk, and many do not have the resources to defend themselves," he added, noting that the company has pledged $5 million to cover legal fees for NFT creators and developers who receive a Wells notice.
OpenSea directed CNBC to a blog post by Finzer, in addition to the social media post. In it, the OpenSea CEO adds that classifying NFTs as securities would "misinterpret the law" and that he is confident his company "operates legally" and that its "users aren't trading securities."
So far this year, the SEC has sent Wells notices, filed lawsuits, or reached settlements with a host of crypto firms focused on ethereum and decentralized finance, including ShapeShift, TradeStation and Uniswap. The agency is also reportedly investigating the Ethereum Foundation.

Earlier this year, OpenAI was valued at a reported $80 billion from $29 billion the prior year. Annualized revenue reportedly surpassed $2 billion earlier this year. Growth took off in late 2022 after the company launched its ChatGPT chatbot and has continued as it rolled out products for businesses and expanded into AI-generated photos and videos.
The Wall Street Journal was first to report on the talks and said Microsoft, which is OpenAI's biggest backer, is also participating in the round. Microsoft declined to comment.
The news follows OpenAI's announcement last week that it would debut a prototype of its search engine, called SearchGPT, which aims to give users "fast and timely answers with clear and relevant sources."
The company said it eventually plans to integrate the tool, which is currently being tested with a small group of users, into its ChatGPT chatbot.
The rollout could have implications for Google and its dominant search engine. Since the launch of ChatGPT, Alphabet investors have been concerned that OpenAI could take market share from Google in search by giving consumers new ways to seek information online.
With this prototype, OpenAI is testing the waters for doing just that, promising users the chance to "search in a more natural, intuitive way" and ask follow-up questions "just like you would in a conversation."

Yeah I wouldnt expect it to be on par with the other ones but it is a way to feed something that isnt run by or backed by the likes of Google or Amazon.
Yes, I've been using chats like DeGPT and Venice more often lately for that reason although I still use the more known platforms the decentralized alternatives are rather impressive.
Yes they still lag but they are doing some things. Venice was meh to me. They are okay chatbots. The images on Venice were not impressive.
