After months of negotiations, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has found a new home beginning with the 2025-26 season. According to a report by Andrew Marchand of the New York Times, ESPN and ABC will be joined by Amazon Prime Video and NBC as part of a new 11-year, $76 billion rights agreement. As part of the new deal, each partner is expected to pay nearly $7 billion per season to air live games.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket is grounded, pending an incident investigation, after an inflight failure — a rare misfire for the company’s workhorse vehicle.
The mission, known as “Starlink Group 9-3,” launched from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base on Thursday evening and was carrying 20 satellites bound for low Earth orbit.

For years now YouTube TV has been the largest live TV streaming service in the United States. Now it seems that smaller, less expensive streaming services that don’t focus on sports are seeing strong growth.
According to our summer 2024 survey of more than 1,000 Cord Cutters News readers, YouTube TV dominates the live TV streaming arena with 26.8% of readers subscribing to YouTube TV. In second place is Sling TV with 9.4% of cord cutters subscribing to their skinny bundle of channels.
There is a major change in third place with Frndly TV jumping from just 2.9% in the spring of 2024 to almost 9% in the summer. Philo also saw strong growth jumping up to 7.5% of our survey.
Earlier this year Warner Bros. Discovery refocused truTV into a sports network but now the network will be diving into sports in a even more meaningful way.
Say goodbye to most non-sports programs during primetime as truTV, starting in October, will start airing sports coverage at 6 pm Eastern each weeknight according to an announcement from Warner Bros. Discovery.
This year, nearly 1,000 hours of sports programming will air on TruTV in 2024, with plans to grow that in 2025.
In its latest forecast on time spent with media, eMarketer has broken out Peacock and Max for the first time. The report highlights that Peacock is the fastest-growing streaming video service in terms of time spent. Meanwhile, platforms like Disney+ and Hulu are expected to see a contraction in time spent due to their crackdown on password sharing.
Peacock is expected to finish the year with robust double-digit growth of 15.0%, increasing the average time spent from 12.9 minutes to 14.9 minutes per day among adult users. This follows a 3.3% decline last year due to a loss of subscribers.

Absolutely. There is a good contingency from Venezuela and Brazil. Need to get them involved.
It is great they are here. But I do think, at least the spanish speaking community from south america usually keep themselves to each other. They are big and strong, but they are not too involved with the whole international community!

I got sick on a ferry once when I was younger… mostly been ok since. Went fishing on a boat and felt quite sick, but that's another story.
Had some cool experiences too… nice and chilled boat trips seeing sights/swimming etc, speed boat, a little sailing, and not forgetting boat parties!

eu nunca tive e nunca me interessei em ter pq não acho válido pagar por algo que não seja estável e funcione perfeitamente. se tem bug, eu não pago, e isso é o que mais temos por aqui. #hivebr
Sim é verdade, mas o importante é que a cada semana temos atualizações e consertos de bugs. Hoje mesmo tivemos muitas coisas ajsutadas e imlementadas.
Eu também me questionava sobre a questão da instabilidade, mas soube pelo próprio Khal que o problema em algumas vezes era o próprio Hive, pelo nó e isso faz sentido.
Se o nó está com problemas, não só aqui estará instável e pelo que estou lendo, muitos brs estão reclamando da Ecency pela lentidão e tal... Às vezes são os nós e afeta tudo em consequência.
Mas eu te entendo... $10 para nós brasileiros é um dinheiro caro e conseguir juntar aqui mesmo e multiplicar é algo mais difícil.

Last week, Paramount and Skydance officially announced a deal to merge. With this deal Skydance will buy the Redstone families majority control of Paramount. Part of the deal though gave the Redstone family 45 days to look for other buyers to beat the Skydance offer.
One of the other potential buyers was Sony, who had looked at Paramount but now has decided not to buy Paramount, including its streaming services Pluto TV and Paramount+. This comes from a report by Deadline who says their sources confirmed Sony dropped out of the bid. Sony had reportedly made a preliminary $26 billion offer, but Paramount decided to go with Skydance instead. After that, Sony declined not to make a new offer.

After months of negotiations, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has found a new home beginning with the 2025-26 season. According to a report by Andrew Marchand of the New York Times, ESPN and ABC will be joined by Amazon Prime Video and NBC as part of a new 11-year, $76 billion rights agreement. As part of the new deal, each partner is expected to pay nearly $7 billion per season to air live games.
Marchand’s sources have direct knowledge of the deal, however, TNT Sports, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery can match to keep NBA games on their networks. The report states that Amazon’s rights package would be the network that WBD CEO David Zaslav would likely target.

YouTube TV Still Dominates, But Frndly TV & Philo See Strong Growth in 2024
For years now YouTube TV has been the largest live TV streaming service in the United States. Now it seems that smaller, less expensive streaming services that don’t focus on sports are seeing strong growth.
According to our summer 2024 survey of more than 1,000 Cord Cutters News readers, YouTube TV dominates the live TV streaming arena with 26.8% of readers subscribing to YouTube TV. In second place is Sling TV with 9.4% of cord cutters subscribing to their skinny bundle of channels.
There is a major change in third place with Frndly TV jumping from just 2.9% in the spring of 2024 to almost 9% in the summer. Philo also saw strong growth jumping up to 7.5% of our survey.
