I'm not sure about fees being lowered as a result of the upgrade, but it brings Bitcoin one step closer to having smart contract functionality.

If DeFi is such a big deal now without Bitcoin, imagine how it will explode after Bitcoin begins accepting smart contracts and DeFi services are made for it. If things look promising, maybe CUB Finance can be sold via Bitcoin's blockchain.
Then add to that Splinterlands-style blockchain gaming on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is making moves, slowly but surely. If Dogecoin follows Bitcoin's lead, expect that hype machine to go into overdrive and blow out a flux capacitor.

I wonder...
While I see your point about something as popular as Bitcoin becoming involved in Defi...can you imagine paying transaction fees in Bitcoin!
It would be very expensive...
Unless they can actually run the projects on the Lightening Network where transactions in 100 satoshi are possible.

Indeed more projects will be seeing the light of day in 2022 and are nice to see that we are filling the ecosystem also with the hype from others - like the Punks that came on Hive. We need to check all the boxes and capitalize on those!

Hard to tell until we see what all these collaborations look like. Right now we just have a few posts claiming there will be collaboration.
So until we see more information, hard to pinpoint what is taking place and how it will help Hive.
But it is good that they are getting the ball rolling.

I havent the slightest idea.
It would seem to me that it could be the development team since a lot of it entails integrating on chain.
The Peerplays seems to be the Spk team who drove that. At this point the collaboration appears to be that network building out SONs that support Hive/HBD.
So I am not sure how these are structured. Personally, starting to seem like a bit of marketing fluff. There might be some core technology that gets integrated but outside Peerplays DEX, I dont see much that is tied to Hive.

Thanks for posting that. I'd completely forgotten about LBI since early 2021 when I had to liquidate my stake when things were dicy finacially. Picked up a couple LBI today, and have been spreading out buys of dividend-producing tokens lately.

Pro tip: Arb bots aren't set up on the LBI market, so when HIVE pumps it takes ages for the price of LBI to catch up.
This means you can often buy LBI at, or even sometimes even below, the price of LEO itself.
Don't steal it all, leave some cheap LBI for me.

I wonder if it's better to use a token as the vehicle for promoting a service here then the actual service?
Are people more comfortable owning a token that gives then dividends based on the investment of the money they paid to buy the Token? Versus just sending the investment capitol to a service and receiving earnings from the investment?
