I really resonate with the message in this blog. Being in contact with the new generations through my work, I can really feel how for most of the younger adults, everything has to be done immediately and that there is no room for patience and slowly building something strong. Even with my own kids, such a behaviour is already there (note that they are far from being adults), although there are not any examples of impatience at home.
I am afraid our world may pay the consequences of such a behaviour in the long term. Without taking the time to build yourself, especially on what the previous ones did, we are facing a potential loss of expertise in some fields... To be honest, there are of course several factors that could yield this loss of expertise, and the one here (taking the time to do thing right and solidly) is only one of them.
Have a nice week! Cheers!
I have to agree with you. This generation doesn't seem to want to give things time to marinate and slow cook. They want the microwave dinner!
