The Sandbox Alpha Season 3 is Here!

As someone that isn't thoroughly impressed or really even entertained by the whole "metaverse" thing... I really like The Sandbox. I'm a huge advocate for NFTs and integrating them into a number of things including gaming. I've been following The Sandbox for quite some time now, and I've played the game a good amount. I have participated in both the first and second Alpha seasons, and have not yet won an Alpha Pass. I won't give up though. I actually do enjoy the game and most of the experiences are at least a little entertaining.

Every season comes with the potential to win an Alpha Pass, which allows you to earn some SAND. This could prove to be very profitable if you get lucky enough to win the lottery drawing. How do you get tickets, you might ask? Well, you need to play the game. You need to play the game and complete quests to earn entries into the lottery. Last season there were around 200 experiences if I'm not mistaken (I probably am) that I didn't even get close to completing.

This season, there are 90+ experiences. 27 of them come from the Snoop D O double G himself. Snoop dog is a huge supporter of The Sandbox and always has something fun planned for these occasions. I thoroughly enjoyed the dungeon ones from the previous season. I know I could link it but I'm exhausted and don't feel like finding links back to my own blog.

One of my favorite things about The Sandbox is that they are not scared to do something new. They partner with countless projects and brands to bring fun metaverse experiences to life. This season, there are cross-project NFT avatars from quite a few different NFT collections which is something that we've been crying about forever. When will we have NFTs that work in multiple different projects? Well, the answer is now. Or at least very soon.

They have created avatars for use from collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club and Cool Catz. Now your JPEGs are being brought to life in the form of pixelated avatars. Congratulations lol. I've literally spent no money on this project, but I feel like I should at this point. Maybe it's time to fork over some ETH and grab a few NFTs because now you can earn a guaranteed amount of SAND for owning one. Previously the only way to be eligible for SAND rewards was to own an Alphas pass, which could be very expensive.

The first 5,000 players will also receive their share of 1.5M SAND in rewards. This really opens up the playing field for a lot of players to start earning. Maybe you don't own any of their NFTs yet, but you earn enough SAND to start getting them. I am considering grabbing an avatar at minimum just because I want to earn something from my time spent completing quests. I'll probably end up losing money but I really like the game itself.

I have to update the game to get back in... I feel like if I really grind I might be able to at least place in the first 5,000 players to rank. Knowing my luck, they're probably already ranked on the first day lol. If you haven't played, join up and let's do some quests together!
