Senator Cynthia Lummis chairs a new Senate subcommittee dedicated to digital assets, and her 2025 agenda includes supporting responsible innovation, eliminating “Chokepoint 2.0” (the term Chokepoint refers to preventing banks from dealing and approaching cryptocurrencies) and turning the United States into the global capital of Bitcoin.
The Senate Banking digital asset subcommittee will:

✔️ Eradicate Operation Chokepoint 2.0
✔️ Make America the bitcoin and digital asset capital of the world

The idea has received broad support, including from President Donald Trump, who signed documents indicating his support for the plan.
The new subcommittee also includes pro-crypto voices like Senator Ruben Gallego and Senator Bernie Moreno.
Despite the political momentum, Bitcoin has seen a volatile price, falling to $102,400 after the documents were signed before rebounding to $105,000.
The markets are currently closely watching the developments in the strategic reserve of Bitcoin and its impact on the sector.
