1/ 🧵 At different times in our lives, we may have felt hurt or had problems that made us angry at someone for doing something wrong. We have a hidden wound that opens up whenever we see that person because we haven't forgiven them. We hold on to our anger even though we don't think it's something we can't eliminate.
2/ 🧵 Forgiving someone is a solid way to heal mental scars and find peace at the same time. We let ourselves heal by letting go of the anger and hatred that caused the wound. Joy and happiness will be hidden inside us if we don't hold on to our anger or resentment.
3/ 🧵 When we forgive, compassion lets us let go of the pain. If you haven't forgiven something from the past, it will help you let go of the pain you're carrying around in your heart and doesn't serve you. This will give you hope that your future will be different. Also, it's essential to be clear that forgiving someone doesn't mean we agree with what they did, even though many people think that's what it means. Forgiving doesn't mean we're releasing a burden, like anger or bitterness, that doesn't serve our hearts (in fact, anger can be destructive for our health, as we can forgive:
4/ 🧵 Learning to accept and let go of the anger that comes from pain is an act of love for yourself because that pain is in your heart. You love yourself because you want to be so happy and mentally healthy that nothing or no one can get in the way of your happiness. You want to feel joy, peace, and mental calm all the time without remembering the bad times you've had.
