If you have any significant amount of wealth tied up in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, you should seriously consider donating a little money to organizations such as Coin Center.
About Coin Center(src):
Based in Washington, D.C., Coin Center is the leading non-profit research and advocacy center focused on the public policy issues facing cryptocurrency and decentralized computing technologies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Our mission is to build a better understanding of these technologies and to promote a regulatory climate that preserves the freedom to innovate using permissionless blockchain technologies.
We do this by producing and publishing policy research from respected academics and experts, educating policymakers and the media about blockchain technology, and by engaging in advocacy for sound public policy.
Don't let the cool swag they send you throw you off (I'm still expecting a t-shirt to arrive) for donating $50 or more. Yes that is a pocket sized Bitcoin white paper. These people are providing a valuable service to us all by helping to build the regulatory moat around crypto. Check out their Blog if you want to get a better idea of what they are involved in. It doesn't really matter what crypto you hold or where you live, as many of the battles being fought can impact the entire ecosystem.
Here they are filing a third comment regarding the recently proposed FinCEN regulations:

Well, when it comes to regulation, every country has their own thought process - India is planning a blanket ban by criminalizing holding of crypt - leaving no room for anyone. There are lot of debates going on, but if this happens, then it will be end of story for all of us in India.
There's so much conflicting information coming from India, who knows. I'll bet the rich are just stacking crypto while they create FUD for the poor.
Can't wait for you to show us the shirt.
Do I need to model it?
Yes.
Donate money to America...yeah nah...
Plenty of countries will take their regulatory lead according to what happens in the US.
