We also shouldn't be taking 200,000 HBD out for valueplan for going to events if it's not generating at least 200,000 back. That's a massive part of the overall market cap of hive and yet again drain. there's so much hive being sold off each month over the last 6 months has been the worst it's disgusting.
Here's the chart I was looking for. This is the last 30 days of power ups vs power downs. Ya damn well know people powering down are going to sell lol there's really no other reason to power down.
I actually powered down so I could trade HIVE/HBD on the internal market (I'm using a separate account for this). I intend to put the profits back into the ecosystem over time!

Maybe but that would make ties to legal issues. The DHF needs to get over constantly funding programs that bring no value in. Like I've said for years now there's no reason 3speak should be running at least banner ads around their videos to generate revenue.
There's no reason other front ends shouldn't be finding ways to generate revenue.
But when someone just keeps feeding you thousands and you have zero incentive to figure out how to make your business profitable it creates a lazy sinks that just constantly drain the ecosystem. There's too few people with too much Hive that simply don't want to let go of their cash cow they continue to cash in on. If that doesn't change soon (next two years) I have very little hope of hive to be honest.
I will never understand the hatred these platforms have for advertising.
I don't get it, ads are what made youtube, facebook, instagram, x(twitter) into multi billion/trillion dollar platforms. You're either selling stuff or your running ads or both. Otherwise you're not generating revenue.
such a warped way of looking at things, because it's this purist attitude of web 3 being above advertising....well it's like you said, you need to generate revenue somehow.

Funny you mention this... My vision for a DAO proposal would be asking for exit liquidity for a token a build. So basically my token would burn Hive/HBD (sent to @null) and I'd be asking for a kickback from the DAO to provide more liquidity to the users who want to cash out.
Main point being that it would be mathematically impossible for me to spend more DAO money than Hive/HBD that was already burned. That's the idea anyway.
It can fund anything in theory if the community think it's a good idea. Getting the votes would probably never happen due to some outdated thinking on what web3 and the DAO is.
The money goes out but never back in.
