I listened to your advice of "showing up" 5 months back. Now I think that has helped me a lot for getting noticed. I think adding value via content and also commenting goes a long way. Anything you get in return is bonus. :)
That's how I feel...I mean, I never expect anything, and I'm so honored when I do get votes and comments. My job, and my journey, has been to show up every day no matter what...Everything else seems to work out after that lol
It's great to remember how things were when we started out. You made a nice point to put yourself into the shoes of a newbie :-)
Yeah man, and I remember when I joined, it was REALLY hard to even get a response from an author when you put a comment out there. It seemed like a big scary place when I first joined, I never want others to feel like it's that way here.
Well...my first year is over and I didn't even reach that 5k HP. Then again, I didn't power up everything and I spread out across some Hive Engine stuff.

Yeah I think that was a case of we didn't have any choice back then lol Literally, power up...That was it. No tribes, no Hive Engine.
I agree don't pay attention to the price of Hive, just post and enjoy the process. I am guilty of the opposite mind you in the past.
It's a much easier way to approach this stuff :)
And 4 years ago people were waiting for weeks, sometimes months to have an account on the previous blockchain. I was very lucky to get it in only 2 days.
I'm pretty sure there are some people still waiting for an account LOLOL
