Happy New Year!

in LeoFinance2 days ago

Just wanted to take a few minutes to wish everyone on the blockchain a happy new year!

I'm a few hours before the clock switches over and I always love this time of year. Especially on chain :)

Yeah I'm way too old to go out and ring in the new year. So what I do is.....

Go over my goals for the year lol

So here's the back story on this tradition I've been doing for like a decade now it seems....

On December 31st of each year, I write down 3 goals that I have for the following year. I then take a piece of tape and put them right on my computer screen. The idea behind this is that I'll look at them every day, and remind myself what I have planned for the next 12 months....

Generally, I seem to accomplish at least 2 of the 3 of them each year. There are other years I do much better, but overall....I hit my targets.

Now if you look at what I wrote down last year, I can tell you.....I did hit 2 of 3 lol

That last one though, didn't materialize. I'm a diabetic and take pills to manage it. My idea last year was to take my health much more seriously, and work towards lowering my need for the pills. Welp...Not so much lol

But as for my reading....I read 34 books in 2025!

As for my devotional life...It was good, but could always be better.

And prayer was....So so.

I do believe 'family growth' happened this past year. As my family got settle dinto our new home, we spent a lot of time together and did plenty of activities in 2025. Still...It can always be improved.

Which brings me to my goals for 2026....

O.k., let's break 'em down....

  1. Obviously, I always want a deeper relationship with God. And like I mentioned in the post a few days ago, I have a plan to do it. Reading through the bible, getting more involved in the Kingdom Bible community here on chain, and having much deeper devotions!

  2. Losing weight is big for me this year. But doing it smartly. I've started intermittent fasting and will be going on a heavy plant based diet. While not going 100% vegetarian, I do plan to keep the meat down and the veggies high. Lots more hiking as well! I'm entering year 50 of my life pretty soon, so it's no time to take it easy with my health!

  3. Richer family life is kind of the continuation from last year. I want my kids to know, they are my world. I want my wife to feel like the queen she is. So this involves me, putting away a lot of worldly things and focusing on them!

So that's my plan Stan!

How about you?

Do you set goals for the new year? These are new year's resolutions at all, because truth be told...I'm always working on my goals from January to December :)

Once again, have an epic new year and all the blessings and success in 2026!

Good luck on those goals. I haven't decided what my resolutions or goals for the year are just yet.

Thank you sir! It's a lot of fun writing them down

Wishing you a healthy 2026!

34 books? Woah! I don't remember if I completed even one.

1 a month, would give ya 12 a year :)

So your average is almost 3 per month. That's really impressive!
