It continues to grind on me that the salary Ohtani may command goes up out of talking heads' mouths. Don't get me wrong, if you can make that paper I'm all for capitalism, but now they talking 700 million? Fans end up paying in the end #mlb

Sort:

And the contract wont work out like most mega contracts.

But then the #nba is paying people $50-$70 million per year. QBs are over $50M now. So it is only a matter of time.

But isn't easier in those sports than the #mlb to crawl out of a hole when they spend that type of money one or two players? I understand the all in mentality, but let's face it they say Padres will be in on Ohtani? lol @taskmaster4450lee

The #nfl for sure since much of the contract isnt guaranteed. With the #nba, it took the #knicks a while to get our from under Carmelo.

The difference might be they dont do 10 years deals in the NBA like in #mlb

Can't argue that point @taskmaster4450le - please don't remind me 🤢

Look at Lindor. What does he have? Another 9 years left?

Pete is going to get 10. You would think they learn from the Kevin Browns of the world. Even Wright's contract was an albatross for much of it.

I was really upset about the Wright contract, because we has meant to the franchise overall, but unfortunately to get the best players a team like the Mets have to overpay. Braves get it done when they are puppies. Right way to go. #sports
