I guess this is the first step towards the government trying to implement UBI. However I doubt the rich will want to share their portion of the pie.

Yeah although it is the Wall Street crowd, most of whom are not the ultra, mega wealthy, who will object.
Ironic the multi billionaires have no problem with these concepts. Of course, that might be due to all the loopholes they enjoy that the tax burden isnt on them anyway. It is the upper middle class and the middle class who get stuck with it.

Yea they got enough money that they don't need to care. Just by charging fees or earning a few percent is more than what normal people would earn in a year. Then those tax lawyers find every exception and get them the maximum benefits.
