I think a 2k HP gain isn't that bad. After all its still growth and that is pretty much my earnings over the past year. Then again you can always shoot for a higher number.

Depends from the perspective. If you start with 10k, it doesn't sound very good. If you start with nothing or less than 500, that's pretty cool, without outside investments.
