So let me get this straight...

Twitter self destructs it's own platform via terrible policy implementations... and Facebook (Meta) is just sitting there waiting with a Twitter alternative to launch?

Seems a little fishy...

Sort:

How did Twitter self destruct?

they implemented an outrageous rate-limit which makes the app unusable after seeing a certain number of posts

Yeah a level most never reach.; didnt destroy it. That is over dramatics. Bet you everything on Hive it will still be a massive digital epicenter 6 months from now.

I suppose I'm speaking with a bit of hyperbole... I definitely don't think Twitter will disappear and I'll still use it daily, I just think those missteps were a major catalyst for a successful launch of Threads by Meta

People seem to think each time they do something it is the end. Remember the Twitter Blue mess back in Nov. Twitter was dead then, or so we were told.

I disagree. Threads was going to get millions of users no matter what since it is FB and they have billions.

Elon Musk has an idea of what he is doing.

Maybe they were waiting for the right timing?

All I know is that Meta is shit, but normies will adopt it. Will it give Twitter a run for its money? I don't think so, but it will definitely snatch a piece of the market share.
