Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (known professionally as Snoop Dogg) and popularly known for the song "Drop it like it's hot" has just dropped his first nonfungible token (NFT) collaboration with artist Coldie in the release of the Decentral Eyes Portrait Series.
My uncle Snoop has been heavily involved in the cryptocurrency industry lately. earlier in the year Snoop joined the likes of chief Elon Musk and Kiss rock star Gene Simmons in tweeting a meme of a Shiba Inu, the dog breed that represents the DOGE token.

I am sure y'all know the rest that ensued afterward, The price of the cryptocurrency started trading around $0.056 at the beginning of the day and went up to $0.0872 in the afternoon before settling back to $0.084, up 55%, in the last 24 hours, eclipsing the all-time high of $0.078 set late in January.

Anyway back to crypto artist Coldie, confirmed that Snoop had already strengthened his commitment by releasing an NFT showing 10 different moments of his life on stage. Ad guess what? he also released an audio that goes together with NFT, to put a signature on the artwork. (Talk about non-fungible now). I sure will love to hear that audio release.

This token was created on the NFT marketplace SuperRar and will be available for purchase until December 3. At the time of writing this, the highest bid was 169 Ether by **hardik **at about $760,000.

The NFT’s description on SuperRare explains that “the purple area is a nod to his hip-hop royalty. The halftone and grunge effect on his left eye speaks to his being an OG in the game and the Doggystyle references are a nod to his epic first release.”

Snoop Dogg admitted that NFTs had inspired him to change the way he shows his art to the world. He also applauded Coldie as the right partner for the vision. Furthermore, he wants this artwork to “stand out as a representation” of his vision in the metaverse.

“You don’t just see it, you feel it, and you hear it. You dig. I want this piece to stand out as a representation of my vision in the metaverse. It’s Decentralized, Decentral eyes.”

Snoop’s long-time investment partner Nick Adler also stated that the NFT drop is only the beginning of Snoop’s work in the NFT and art space.” Snoop also said he plans to have a relationship with whoever ends up purchasing the NFT.

Coldie said that Snoop’s management team has considered using the artwork as augmented reality labels for wine bottles, or as a book cover.

“We could do Snoop wine bottles that use augmented reality, where the portrait comes to life on a wine bottle. That leads so much more value to the collector because he's got millions of eyes on the artwork.”

Finally, the artwork will be shown at ‘The Gateway’ at Miami Art Week on Dec 3 and also at the Flagler Street Art Festival on Monolith during Art Week in downtown Miami between Nov. 30 and Dec. 5. Snoop also mentioned that he had been using a pseudonym to hide in plain sight as an NFT Twitter influencer, “Cozomo de’ Medici”. The wallet associated with the account has accumulated an NFT collection worth over $17 million, including nine CryptoPunks and several marijuana-themed tokens.

Look I need to buy myself some NFT's but well I'm still damn broke...LOL

See ya later.
