My Social Mining Journey: A Recap From 2023

Certainly, one thing I truly enjoy sharing is my past experiences and reflections on life, both online and offline. Today, I'll delve into my journey as a Social Miner. Although I'm not sure where to begin, I'll start somewhere to share lessons from this journey with you.

HOW I GOT TO KNOW ABOUT ABOUT SOCIAL MINING

My Social Mining Journey actually started in the year 2022 when I was desperate in need of earning money and making a living as a recent graduate from a prestigious University in Nigeria. I applied for several available jobs that same year but it all turned out to be futile due to the fact that increasing unemployment has been a major challenge here in Africa.

Throughout my time in school, I harbored a strong passion for leveraging my digital skills to earn money online. I distinctly recall crafting content related to cryptocurrencies on my Steemit and Hive blog, seeking valuable rewards that I could convert into cash for essential needs. The years 2017-2018 marked my deep dive into the world of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology as I actively contributed to discussions about digital currencies. This not only broadened my knowledge but also facilitated connections within the crypto community, leading me to join various African cryptocurrency WhatsApp groups which led to where my Social Mining journey begins.

THIS IS WHERE MY SOCIAL MINING STORY BEGINS

Participating in the cryptocurrency WhatsApp group, I encountered discussions about a Web3 project where individuals earned valuable rewards using their Twitter accounts. The concept intrigued me, and my curiosity about Social Mining heightened when I learned that they compensated users for their contribution through a system known as "workdrop."

Initially, I was skeptical about the project, as I perceived Social Mining to be similar to other cryptocurrency endeavors where users engage in tasks for rewards through processes like Airdrop. I had grown disillusioned with many cryptocurrency airdrops, often feeling like users were merely used to promote projects with little to no tangible returns.

Inspired by a friend's wisdom that "Life is all about taking risks," I decided to embrace that philosophy and joined the Social Mining community. The fact that there was no financial commitment added to my motivation. Little did I know that the risk I took in 2022 would turn into a significant fortune, and I'm genuinely content with the decision to become a Social Miner.

Social Mining Experience In 2022

Even though Social Mining has been in existence before the year 2022, i regretted not joining the Social Mining community more earlier in 2021 but I guess as they always say "God is the best of all planners".

The Social Mining experience in 2022 brought me immense joy, particularly the seamless process of claiming our Workdrop rewards after contributing significantly to the community. Yes, Workdrop! You might be curious about what Workdrop entails in the realm of Social Mining. 😀

Workdrop essentially signifies the time when Social Miners receive compensation for their contributions. In 2022, our Workdrop rewards were directly sent to our wallet addresses in the form of BUSD, creating a gratifying experience for all Social Miners. The current process allows Social Miners to claim their rewards at the Marketplace, provided they meet the specified conditions.

Upon receiving my first ever Workdrop rewards from Social Mining, I promptly introduced my brother to the workings of the community. I am delighted to say he has excelled in Social Mining, earning recognition as the Social Miner of the Hour in the community.

Also on the month of October 2022, Social Miners were elated by the soft launch of Polygon Hub, bringing immense joy to the community. It was a delightful experience as I actively contributed to both DAO Labs, earning BUSD rewards, and Polygon Hub, securing cool MATIC rewards for my involvement in the Social Mining community.

My Social Mining journey continues to unfold in ways more fascinating than I could have imagined on a daily basis. The year 2022 has indeed proven to be remarkably interesting, thanks to the world of Social Mining. 😀

Fast Forward to 2023

Without a doubt, I can affirm that the year 2023 was truly memorable one marked by significant developments and exciting rewards within the Social Mining community.

In 2023, the Social Mining marketplace for all Social Mining Hubs was introduced, streamlining the process for Social Miners to claim their well-deserved rewards. This launch not only facilitated easier reward claiming but also contributed to significant advancements within the Web3 community.

After that the team introduced the Soft Launch of KAVAHub which brought lot of joy to the Social Mining community as this will enable Social Miners contribute in KAVA Blockchain and earn valuable rewards in KAVA Tokens.

In the early months of 2023, the launch of WAXHub added another remarkable dimension to my Social Mining journey. Contributing to the WAX Blockchain earning WAXP tokens and NFTs through Social Mining has been truly rewarding. You can learn how to get started with WAXHub here

While actively engaging on DAOLabs, WAXHub, PolygonHub, and KAVAHub, a new player entered the scene in December last year—a true spoiler, as Trujillo would playfully put it in the official DAO Labs Telegram group. 😄 Yes, the TON Blockchain joined the Social Mining community as TON Hub, making December an exciting month. This means I can now contribute to the TON Community and earn valuable rewards in the form of TON similar to how I keep earning valuable rewards from other Social Mining Hubs.

Summing it up, my Social Mining journey has been both fascinating and impactful, particularly in 2023, where I achieved numerous milestones within the Social Mining community. Feel free to explore some of these accomplishments in the Social Mining community.

A noteworthy accomplishment in the Social Mining community is being featured not once but twice on the DAO Labs blog!

The initial recognition stems from my contribution regarding "The next partner for DAO Labs." I recommend reading the blog post titled "Making the DAO Name Work for Ideas" to delve into the details.

The subsequent acknowledgment is getting featured in theSocial Miner of the Hour blog post. The post details how I influenced a fellow Social Miner by involving them in the Social Mining community.

#2 Engagements From Official Web3 Project X Accounts
Another notable achievement is receiving official retweets and engagement on my various posts, particularly during Social Mining tasks. I recall receiving numerous retweets from DAO Labs' official account, Polygon, OKX, TON, and others.

This is advantageous as it significantly enhances the visibility and engagement of my content on Twitter, thereby amplifying exposure for other Web3 projects and communities.

#3 Acquiring Bronze and Silver Badge on WAXHub
A cherished accomplishment for me is earning both a Bronze and Silver Badge on WAXHub, a testament to the quality points garnered from my contributions.

I aspire to achieve the Gold Badge this year (2024), a goal already set as part of my Social Mining objectives.

#4 Selected As a Reddit Tester/Redditor
A memorable achievement in my Social Mining journey was being chosen as one of the Reddit testers. Embracing the role of a Redditor as a Social Miner proved to be a rewarding experience, enhancing my technical skills as a tester on the platform.

Additionally, my contributions to the Social Mining community through Reddit significantly expanded my outreach beyond Twitter (X), enabling me to connect with a broader audience. Simultaneously, this engagement on Reddit contributed to an increase in my Social Mining rewards.

#5 WAXHub Top Contributor

I received recognition as a top creator for Game Fest on WAXHub, earning some fantastic rewards for my high-quality contributions to the community.

#6 Top 25th Worker of The Year
Lobbie, a friendly spam killer bot from DAO Labs, acknowledged me as one of the top 25 contributors on DAOLabs for the year 2023.

Securing the 13th position among the top 25 Social Miners of the year 2023 was truly gratifying, and it's an achievement I find worth celebrating. I look forward to surpassing this accomplishment in the future. 😀

#7 Inviting More Users To The Social Mining Community
A notable achievement worth sharing is that I've invited numerous users to join the Social Mining community, allowing them to experience the beauty of Web3.

I'm truly glad to have positively impacted the lives of some users, especially the unemployed, by introducing them to Social Mining. They can now earn a living from the comfort of their homes while contributing to Web3 projects.

#8 40K+ Accumulated All Time Social Mining Points
Being a Social Miner on DAO Labs, I successfully accumulated over 40,000 Social Mining Points through my engagement in the DAOLabs Social Mining community.

The success of this remarkable Social Mining journey wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Social Mining community. I express my gratitude to all Social Miners for their continuous support, as their contribution played a pivotal role in achieving this milestone.

CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED DURING MY SOCIAL MINING JOURNEY

There's this saying that life is full of challenges and there's definitely no doubt every successful individual would have experienced some certain challenges in life. This same is also applicable when it comes to my Social Mining journey. Check out some of the challenges below;

#1 Twitter (X) Account Suspension
A significant challenge I faced in my Social Mining journey was the suspension of my Twitter (X) account. It's important to note that this ban was unrelated to Social Mining but stemmed from personal activities.

I believe my former X account faced suspension due to the high volume of tweets and retweets, as I wasn't a Twitter Blue user at that time. However, I already created a new Twitter (X) account and I'm definitely hoping to secure Twitter Blue verification as soon as possible to enable me continue my Social Mining activities.

#2 Engagement Over Quality Submissions During Task Validation
In certain instances, certain Social Mining Hubs may demand increased engagement to receive full Social Mining points or rewards, although this isn't a consistent requirement across all Hubs. Some Hubs may also necessitate higher engagement in task submissions while simultaneously rewarding high-quality contributions.

I recall participating in a Social Mining task focused on Infographics Design. Unfortunately, despite the validator acknowledging the quality of my design, I didn't receive adequate rewards for the task entry due to a lack of sufficient engagement. The feedback emphasized the need to enhance engagement for future entries.

While such occurrences may not be prevalent in all Social Mining Hubs, I believe task validators should consistently appreciate and encourage high-quality contributions to foster a culture of excellence within the community.

**MY WINNING STRATEGY **

The winning strategy or trick that consistently aids my growth in the Social Mining community is undoubtedly maintaining a consistent stream of quality contributions. The community is observant of one's efforts, and this consistency opens up numerous opportunities for any Social Miner.

Community engagement is equally crucial and should not be overlooked, as without it, your content or contributions may not reach a broader audience. Actively participating in community engagement ensures that you are well-positioned to make a positive impact.

ROAD TO 2024

I would describe my recent years as a Social Miner, particularly 2023, as quite successful. The Social Mining community continues to thrive, experiencing consistent growth with new developments each year, including exciting project partnerships. For instance, Telos Blockchain recently joined the Social Mining community.

I firmly believe that 2024 will be an exceptional year, presenting significant opportunities for Web3 projects and the Social Mining community at large. The anticipation is fueled by the commitment of the DAOLabs team, as mentioned by Malte Christensen and Shuyong Yang in their recent updates on the DAO Labs blog, where they shared insights about upcoming features.

CONCLUSION

In summary and conclusion, I am really grateful for the gift of Social Mining by making me contribute in Web3 projects and making me make a living by working from home. Social Mining has also helped me develop my digital skills in terms of content creation such as research, content writing, Infographics Design, meme design, graphic design and most especially community building and engagement.

Also, Social Mining has connected me with other Web3 projects and Web3 enthusiasts whom we both share the same goal and objectives. All this is possible due to the existence of Social Mining.
