I REGRET NOT LISTENING TO MY FRIEND TO BUY BITCOIN IN 2011

It was a hot afternoon, June 11, 2011, after my post jamb exam(an exam we write to gain admission in Nigeria universities), in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna state, Nigeria.

Some of us Jambite (this is the name given to students that have registered or written the joint admission and matriculation board examination) were watching a movie(game of thrown season one to be precise) when a tall black boy with the bear face-name Chris walked into the room and started talking to us about a new currency in a town called cryptocurrency, created by an unknown person who is not traceable.

Chris was urging us to buy this currency and sell high at a later date. I can remember him telling us the price of bitcoin then was between 5.24 to 5.37 dollars.

None of us listen to Chris,I never paid attention to what he had to say. We were all busy watching the movie Game of thrones, but Chris kept on talking to us like a pastor preaching the gospel to nonbelievers who never believed in what the pastor is talking about.

We were naive and uninformed but today I wish I had listened to Chris and started trading crypto or at least bought some bitcoin, I would have been a billionaire by now because then I had a lot of spare money from my business of then which was trading palm oil. I would have been owner of different companies in every sector of my country's economy by now.

My grandad(may his soul continue to rest in peace) used to tell me about the opportunities. He always said it comes in disguise, like an unserious thing or event and if you missed it some may never come again. I guess I missed that opportunity of buying Bitcoin at the lowest price when it was in 2011 compared to 2022. That's why I find it a grate opportunity to have been introduced to the hive block chain.

Chris is now a millionaire, chilling somewhere in the Bahamas. He never graduated from school. dropped out when we were in the 200 level in the University. He decided at some point to trade cryptocurrency full time. Because of this action, his father disowned him. He was accepted and supported by his mother who always believed in Chris's decisions.

We were looking at him as a fool when he drooped out but now I realized we were the fools who never listen to him when he was advising us to acquire great wealth.

This is to urge those of us who are crypto enthusiasts never to listen to nah sayers who think investing in crypto or hive is stupid. Hive is here to stay and mmore world governments will allow their citizens to use it as a legal tender in the future.

I will continue to invest in crypto currencies especially hive. I learnt a good lesson. I don't ever want to miss the opportunities the future of hive will bring.
