If you’re from the US you know the struggle when it comes to finding a good exchange or finding a good place to trade your favorite crypto, especially those outside the top 10/100.
Below are my favorite places I have found to trade Hive starting with my most favorite and used working my way down to least favorite or used.
1. Mexc.com
When I was frustrated with the Hive Bittrex wallet being down while the price was pumping I decided to head on over to Coingecko to see if I could find another exchange to sign up for as a US resident.
That’s when I found Mexc and the rest has been history and have been using the exchange consistently to trade Hive/USDT.
Disclaimer, not your keys not your coin, this exchange could be hacked. Please don’t leave any crypto on here that you might not want to be stolen, but so far, knock on wood, Mexc has been a great exchange and reminds me a lot of Binance.
2. Blocktrades.us
If I’m looking to send Bitcoin to my KeepKey hardware wallet, or Ethereum to my MetaMask, I’ll use Blocktrades to accomplish this.
Blocktrades makes it easy as all I have to do is provide my Hive username and credentials, how many Hive I want to trade, and the address I want to send my Bitcoin and/or Ethereum to, and I’m done.
While this is the easiest way I’ve found to convert Hive to Bitcoin, the fees are a little high, but what you lose with high fees you make up for with convenience in my opinion.
3. Hive On Chain Exchanges
If you’re looking to get Hive
Engine Community tokens on Hive, the easiest place I have found to do that is
- Hive-Engine
- Tribal Dex
- Leo Dex — more information on Leodex in my other article here
- Bee Swap
Raymond Speaks owner of The Man Cave Project recently pointed me towards Bee Swap. The reason I want to spend more time learning about the Swap is that they have really good liquidity pool rewards and 50% of the fees from BeeSwap are distributed to $bxt hodlers.
I think, Hive-Engine lets you deposit Hive for free and then Bee Swap lets you withdraw it for only a 0.25% charge, so I’m going to have to test and see if this is something I can do, or in order to withdraw from Bee Swap you have to deposit on Bee Swap, which is how I’m assuming it actually works. Still, this wouldn’t be bad as Hive-Engine charges 1% to withdraw from what I remember.
4. Bittrex
Bittrex was the first exchange I really learned how to trade on and bought many cryptos that have slowly gone to 0 while other cryptos I bought when up 2x — 10x.
I now have a love/hate relationship with the exchange as I’ve felt they’ve been very good to me and have always supported Hive, but at the same time, it seems like the Hive wallet is always in maintenance especially when I want to make a trade when Hive is spiking or crashing.
Also, as someone who lives in the US, it’s one of the only CEXs I can use and trade on that even has Hive listed and for that, I will continue to use Bittrex, even if it is as a last resort.
In Conclusion
These are the exchanges I use on a pretty consistent basis and have either grown to love, hate, or both. As someone who is always looking for new and better opportunities, what are some of your favorite places to trade Hive?
Is it an exchange listed above or is it a different exchange and do you know if it allows US customers to sign up for an account and deposit funds?

I like a lot metamask, but the fees of the Ethereum blockchain are extremely high.
But for Hive i use Binance, idk if hive is listed on Binance.US

It’s not listed on binance but it is on binance smart chain but last I looked a long long time ago their wasn’t enough liquidity to trade.
One of the ones I use from your list is Blocktrades. I use it on the regular.
Another one I use is the CoinEx exchange. It accepts HIVE.
I'll have to check coin exchange out, and thanks blocktrades is one of my favorite.
