A list of steps to follow to eliminate or reduce unnecessary expenses and achieve a higher level of savings.

1 Coffee consumption outside the home.

- Believe it or not, coffee consumption is one of the main micro expenses. It is thought to be something daily and economical; but if you add up the consumption per month or year you will see how the amount of money spent rises considerably.

- Micro expenses are characterized because, when they accumulate, they become a big expense and without realizing it, you will be affecting your budget and your ability to save.

- The ideal is to eliminate this expense by preparing your own coffee and carrying it in a container that preserves its temperature.

2 Payment for services that are not used frequently or in their entirety.

- Normally you consume services that you think cost little, however, by making a monthly analysis of your expenses, you will be able to compare what you really consume VS what this service costs.

- A classic example is cable TV, where you may only watch one or two channels, but you pay for the entire service.

- Try to look for what you consume in alternative media such as internet, where you can find the same content cheaper. If the pretext is that you do not like to be in front of the computer to watch a movie or news, then connect your PC to the TV to reproduce the contents there.

3 Debts to pay.

- This is one of the most dangerous expenses that exist, because if they are neglected they will accumulate until reaching levels very difficult to pay.

- It is highly advisable to keep track of the types of debts to be paid, as well as to investigate whether they generate variable or fixed interest. For this reason, it is important that you learn how to manage a credit card, because it generates variable interest every month. These types of debts end up affecting your monthly budget considerably.

4 Electricity consumption.

- Avoid using several appliances at the same time, for example, if you have a freezer, you can turn it off during the night and turn it on during the day, you will notice that it maintains the temperature, since it is not a device that you have to open and close so often.

- If you are cooking, unplug the TV, the PC and all the equipment you are not using, as well as the lights.

5 Impulsive buying.

- Before going shopping, make a list with all the products you know you need and dedicate a budget to them, then, add 25% to that budget and that will be the total budget for shopping, this way every time you see a product that you like, that is not on the list and exceeds the total budget, you simply will not buy it.

- Do not buy products just because they are brand name, there are other products of lesser known brands and with a higher quality.

- Do not be tempted by the offers, since in many occasions these will make you spend a lot of money on junk products (that you may not use) without realizing it.

With these 5 simple steps you will be able to reduce expenses and dedicate them to your savings or investments that generate passive income like the ones offered by the LeoFinance team.
