This little trick shut the chain down for hours.
Abit found and proposed the fix.
So, he would not be high on the list for being stincy.
I had known about the liquidity rewards, but not the adm part.
Kudos to him for that.
And yes, we have some effort at building a consensus for abuse fighting, and adm does contribute to that.
Abit also, along with smooth, forced the whale experiment onto the chain proving that the n2 reward curve was not the problem, but that the whales were sucking too much out.
Instead of the stincy folks controlling themselves, they forced through linear rewards and went on a two year walkabout without any development of the chain to speak of, just a bunch of bs about 'smtees!™' and 'coming soon™'.
So, no, I don't think abit is trying to sink the chain.
Keep going, there has to be something there, or folks wouldn't be so afraid of what you have to say.
Well, most of them have left, and the folks now in charge are largely not caustic.
There are still a couple, but one or two of them serve in essential core roles for the chain.
Until we have a replacement for them, or end what they do, they will persist.
If you haven't been around much the last 3 or 4 months you might not have felt the change when it was more broadly recognized.
This hive will be what we make of it.
We just have to flesh it out now that the coding has proven itself viable.
That wasn't always a guarantee.
I'm not good at responsibilities, but I am good at backing those that are.

Now that I have discovered the agenda for us all. Any gathering/groups of resistance will be targeted.
Its not odd that the Gathering Place just built buy George Kaiser. @ned was tagging/talking about gathering before he burned us all and sold us out to the Chinese. Its like a mini version of what is happening to the entire world right now. But who are the forces behind such a conspiracy? Why do the ranchers "gather" the herd?
Not sure we have much time left to do more than give love to each other and watch the sky for what the sun will bring us. It is the only real power we have to deal with. The contrived fake powers are showing us their true intent and everyone is still blind.
I have learned so much this last 2 years. My life is the best it has ever been. I am in a position to stand until I am crushed. There is not much more I can do. Spent 35 years trying to get one person to know what is coming. They will not care until that jack boot is on the face. Its sad but true.

abit didn't sell the tokens he made from exploiting the liquidity rewards, he powered it all up to the @adm account which he has donated to the community since then to fight abuse. He's also made important contributions to the blockchain code over the years and is a great asset to have for Hive. That's why I have voted for him for as far back as I can remember.
abit is not the same person as oflyhigh, cnbuddy, justyy, etc.
Off the top of my head, abit has come through multiple times and provided some critical fixes and help when Steem and then Hive needed it most. He divested himself of his STEEM when the network was stolen and he's here now. I don't get any sense he's playing both sides.

In addition, to be honest, I really want to be a member of Bitshares Team, but my development level is limited and I can’t make any contribution to it.
If i had the time/$$$ to plug in servers and be a part of it I would do it in a heartbeat.
THen there is the DPoS part to overcome as well - just because I plug in a machine doesn't mean I'm gonna get enough votes to spread the 'decentralization'.
I digress - I gotta have the space/$$$/time to get the machine plugged in first LOL

i used to be all about BTS and any project those guys were into - they 'seemed' to have great ideas - hell the software even works great.
but then it just turned into - fund/create a new project every year while dumping the old ones
i kind of got burned out on that 'business model' - it sucks too because I still have some bitshares LOL

Yes , that is concerning - and a long time ago (pre steemit/hive split) I used to follow everything a little closer / pay more attention.
The last couple years have been rough and I stopped paying attention (it's been in the background thoughts though)
I mean, those guys have the $$$ to run the equipment - so that's how the system works.
The big fish eat the little fish.
I'm just along for the ride at this point.
