My Hive Goals (Week 52, 2024)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only a general overview, with details expanded in the post.

I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2024, for reference, if needed.

HBD in Savings at the Bull Market End Goal: 5,000 HBD

This multi-year goal morphed from what previously was the 52-week HBD Savings challenge, which was stopped (after week 33).

This is a longer term goal and I don't expect regular pushes toward the target, but rather no or low activity for most of the time, and bursts of HBD added in short time spans later on, toward the end of the bull market.

I pushed all my HBD author rewards from last week toward this goal. Also received the 30-day interest.

Current situation of this multi-year goal (mostly intended for 2025):

Regarding the recent pumps, I could have handled them better. But it was difficult not to end up with more HIVE, although I'm pretty sure many people who played the pumps did much better. Plus, I only use CEXes as on and off ramps by choice, and that reduces my options at times.

HIVE Purchased Below 20c - Completed

This was a temporary goal, HIVE-oriented:

• Buy at least 50 HIVE every week while the price of HIVE is below 20 cents

Final situation of HIVE purchases during this temporary goal:

Total HIVE Purchased: 705.731 (not updated with purchases after the goal was considered completed)

Posting & Commenting Goal - Mostly Completed

I haven't missed a daily post this year yet. Reached 2019 posts published, hitting my target for 2024 two weeks ago, without missing a post yet. I was more conservative when setting my goal, thinking I won't be able to post daily this year, but looks like I am about to do that...

Here's the situation at the end of the year:

I haven't missed any edition of Week through Adrian's Lenses in 2024 either, and I mention this since it's also part of my posting goal. Overall, I reached the 103rd edition of the weekly roundup which debuted at the beginning of 2023. That means I achieved this target as well, of publishing this news roundup update every week of 2024.

I also started the week with 21,251 comments made. Ended the week with 21325 which means I made 74 comments last week. That's the target I missed this year, but have expected it for a few months already.

As expected, my social goals have been mostly completed at the year end, except comments made, which ended up at 86.29% from the target set when the year started. Apart from comments made, I posted every day of the year and published Week through Adrian's Lenses every week of 2024.

I consider this goal, overall, mostly completed, despite the miss on comments made.

LEO Staked - Completed

Goal of 25000 staked LEO achieved in week 42 (started from the beginning of the year).

Here's the final situation (not updated with new power ups until the year end):

Splinterlands: 200k Staked SPS - Completed

Goal started in week 39 with roughly 180k SPS (before staking liquid SPS).

I started last week with 198,781 SPSP and finished it with 200,000 SPSP, which means I added 1,219 SPSP last week and today, taking a bit advantage of the pump in the price of HIVE.

There you go! The final completed goal of the year and the only one I worked hard towards lately, besides my social goals.

Here's the situation so far:

Splinterlands: Increase Grain PP to 400,000 - Completed

Goal started in week 19 and competed in week 39.

Which is the final status for this target?

Final grain production was 411,721 PP.

The major bottleneck for me here is and has always been for land staked DEC.

Land Plots Unlocked - Completed

Goal completed in Week 18, with the following situation at the time:

73 plots were productive and 27 were still under construction.

All plots are productive as of week 35. Now I need way more DEC to stake better PP cards on my lower-end land plots.

ZING Multiplier - Completed

Goal completed in week 10 with 25,203 ZING.

Since then, I slowly grew my stash from staking and collection rewards (achievements) only.

We have a new Advent Calendar event. This time, we receive the soul-bound resource called Holo dust, every day we claim rewards. At the end of the event we'll receive an achievement too.

My ZING holdings are now at 64,786.

2024 Hive Goals in Rear View

This is the last update of my Hive goals from 2024, and it is a good idea to take a retrospective look at them.

I am pleased by the final outcome, having 1 major goal completed (Land Plots Unlocked) and 1 mostly completed (daily posts, Week through Adrian's Lenses every week, and over 86% of the comments made target achieved). Apart from them, I also achieved 4 goals and 1 temporary goal. One main goal got replaced to another (while being on track) and extended to 2025, showing flexibility to adapt to changing conditions. You can see what type of goal each of them was and what happened to them in the TLTR table at the beginning of the post.

Some goals were easier than I anticipated at the beginning of the year (clearing land), some were chosen easy from the beginning (LEO staking), while the ZING goal was kind of a mystery when I had set it, since I didn't know how the rewards accumulation would evolve based on competition and APR. That's one reason why I preferred a low target, but there were others, based on how my accounts' HP stakes were distributed.

Overall, I didn't think at the beginning of 2024 that I will end up focusing on so many goals. But that doesn't seem wrong, to have main or primary goals that are maybe less flexible and goals that are generally not for the entire year (or are easier) and are more adaptable to circumstances. It worked well for me this way.
