Leo payouts are great, but $12 comments? - I haven't seen any of those - most of my comments earn zero, just like comments on Hive,and while I did get $23 for my intro post, none of my other posts have earned over $10.

That is great.
But there is a bit of a thing at the moment of people talking about big comment payouts on Leo like it happens all the time - the same thing happened on Steemit in the early days - I got a $400 payout on one of my first posts, and then I saw a big name post get a $15k payout and thought I was going to get rich quick - it was all very temporary though! By the start of 2017 I was lucky to get over $1 on my posts.
