no, do you have a good wr?
I'm just looking into it still.
Trying to figure out some tennis trading strategies before #wimbledon.
yeah
Nope I suck at sports betting
Not betting though 😉.
Trading in-play markets on the #betfair betting exchange.
For example you can treat a tennis match the exact same way you'd treat a $BTC chart.
Focus on trades with high win rates and good risk:reward.
Ah now that's pretty cool!!!
Like check out the chart of this tennis match.
You can trade these swings with excellent risk:reward.
For example that last swing at the bottom, you only risked 10 ticks to make 20 ticks:
Not me, I know nothing about sports 😅
Well you're no help! 😉
Trade? Interesting term to use.
Was that intentional?
Check this example tennis trade:
If you were laying (betting on Paul to lose) at 1.10, you were only risking 10 ticks to make 20 ticks.
Very interesting. I am not into #sprots betting but it makes sense.
So you can TA different athletes or teams?
#wimbledon starts tonight and I'm going to be doing some trading.
I'll share some examples tomorrow which will explain how it works a lot better :)
That would be great. Always provide more material to the people on here.
Just need to remove emotions from your trading.
You can't care who wins, just have to take in-play setups with good risk:reward.
And 'green up' both sides so you make money no matter the end result.
The outcome is exactly the same as a stock market order book, where you can trade both sides at whatever price you want.
Makes sense. With all the stats these days, no reason why all cant be quantified.
Very intentional.
Betfair isn't a traditional bookmaker for sports betting.
It's what's called a 'betting exchange' where you are backing/laying against other people in the market, while the match is in-play.
I see some of the convo during ball games where the odds for team A to win is +275 when it opened lower. And people can bet later in the game (I presume) taking on longer odds.
