It kinda makes sense to me actually. It's revenue sharing based on the proportion of your LP. It could incentivize more people to power up some tokens if they want an additional "income stream".
One could argue that it creates sell pressure but that is actually neutralized by the buying pressure that occurs before distribution.

Just interesting that the team aren't doing it exactly the same as CUB, when their buy/burns have completely stabilised price over there.
I'd love to see more discussion on the merits of both ways from the team.
