To share a little personal story: I spent 6 months homeless under a bridge in 2014 and 6 months living in my car in 2019. Becoming homeless is rarely your decision, remaining so always is.

This is terrible. And that you have a car means that you are not so economically down. Yet you suffered this homelessness issues. It is serious.

Ohhh my God, I'm sorry about that
What led to your being homeless??

The first time was due to the fact that I had just moved to Tucson and could not get on my feet before the temporary arrangements ended. The second time was because of a misunderstanding between me and the people I was living with. I am since back with them. If I have any fault that I cannot deny, it is that I have never been able to supply a living capable of allowing me to live on my own. I have always lived as a guest to others.

Wow. I love the ending part: Remaining so is your choice

child abuse, corruption, bribery and the rest, pack your load and leave my city oo

even if you want to buy something, ensure yoyou have bribe money, so that it can be sold to you

I wonder who gave those children such orientation. Relationships are no longer valued. Everybody wants to get rich quick

children will look down on you and talk to you anyhow

I'm telling you. Without feeling remorse about it

The issue of fraud and increasing number of fraudster are getting serious people getting duped of their money everydaeveryday

Bad road networks is also another problem, I mean you can't access certain places because of this.

I use to think that every single road in Uyo is glittering? I hope I am right

People are scared to go to places cause of insecurities that surround them

very very common, even going to their home Town

This are all problems we go through
So sad

I spoke with an 11 years old boy and he told me that if only he had two sisters, he would have used one for yahoo yahoo. But since he has just one, he'll wait when he have a girlfriend he will use her.

I have never been speechless

Like this is a real life story? has it gotten to this?

I'm serious. They were about 7 of them learning mechanic work when I went to evangelise to them. They were all saying the same thing.

I almost cried when listening to them

Such a terrible society we live in.

chei! Can you imagine the rate it is going ?

So disheartening

life is turning to something else

seriously oo

illiteracy is another problem with students who fail their courses look for alternatives to get there faster for example issue of fake nurses which can threaten people's lives

And that's as a result of bribing their lecturers in school for good grades.

That's not right at all.people should do the right tin

Unwanted pregnancy amongst teenage girls is a rampant social vice that must be tackled

The most shocking aspect of this problem is teen pregnancy. What do you think causes it?

Everywhere is no longer something to shame about

Well, I wish these negative vices could be battled with but no, I dunno what's gonna happen in future

Do you think the family has a responsibility towards bringing up kids in a way to benefit the society?

Every corner in my area lies in fear because of insecurity. Life is uncertain and many finds pleasure in violence.

Can i walk around freely late in the evening? like between 9pm and 11pm?

Haa. No oo you can't. If you do you are endangering yourself.

poverty is also another major problem we are facing to the extent many families can't eat 2 square mill per day

This talking point today will make a gokd topic for a contest.... because, the matter is long. It's as if the country, Nigeria iis a typical example for there but is it really?

Sure. What is your take on human right abuses in the society. How does it happen?

parents send out their children at early age to stay with other people, because they cant take care of them

Imagine after some years in school you are left without work. This is one of the major reasons contributing to abuse and corruption.

onAs for illiteracy, hahaha, it's part of our country naa. Now tell me, if all should be educated, what will happen? Who will submit?
Lol

You mean that there should always be illiterates?

Honestly homelessness is one of the major problem people face in Lagos State because house is very very expensive.

Oh dear. Are there no government subsidized accomodations?

Government don't even know about anyone, is only in Lagos you will pay agent and agreement more than the house rent

That is terrible. The intermediaries make more money?

I can tell for sure that homelessness is very common in Lagos. But here in Abai is not that common.

Os so common because house is very expensive

some one told me that at Ngwa road just by 5pm small, small boys withhout even masks will be collecting People's phones and Money on the road, how far can this go on? Who will actually deliver Nigeria?

I have heard that but not personally experienced it. Do you think the police can stop this?

Please you don't need to experience it, it's horrible, my cousin and family left their own house there Nkwongwa and rented a flat at Ogbohill now she had experienced it many times, that's how bad nkwo Ngwa area by Ngwa road is now

wo! Corruption! I think its somrythat may never go away and is everywhere esp. in the school system. Failing students for no good reason and probably for consideration (morney or kind)

Lecturers expect students to pay to pass courses? Does it happen in the law department where there should be law and order?

I did not say anything ooh. I don't have the capacity to speak on this matter. For legal purposes, this is just an assumption... Allegedly 😂. But most departments and schools,I've heard they do 🤷

Hahahahahaha. I expected this answer though. But then, we all know what goes on behind those 4 walls.

I was thinking of a place where one can feel secure but couldn't think of any

You see them struggling with. Many parents think that they are training them to be strong. But the truth is that those children are not up to carrying those truck.

Children in my area do works they should not be doing at their age. You can you a child 6 gallons of 25 litters of water in a track.

That is massive abuse. That is beyond their power. Why do parents ask them to do it?

THe issue with child abuse is that many peopledon't even know they are abusing their children.

Really? In what specific ways?

Poverty is man's worst enemy.in my town in nasarawa you find alot of people who starve due to poverty.i think if these people are funded to farm the rate of poverty will be reduced.

You mean they should start farming to help reduce poverty

As for bribery and corruption ,I don't think it can be cured in the country, because government is currupt civil servants are curropt even the president, then who will cure who?

And then there's bribery and corruption too
In Aba,when traveling with people or goods, you pass a lot of checkpoints each one you pass, the driver must give money to those regulating and protecting the road.
This is bad for the drivers o

my sister, Aba, Anambra and Imo is facing the same challenge. For one to get promoted in the office today requires some form of bribery and corruptions too

It's uncalled for!
The rich keeps getting richer and the poor are the sufferers!
Nobody cares about the people living in slums

Bribery and corruption is what I experienced every day. Even if you don't want to involve yourself into it, you Will be forced to do so. Agboro poeple will carry your load and ask for settlement.

GainsSee, here in my country, instead of registering their children in school, parents and guardian will send their children on streets to sell sachet water or any other form of hawking businesses.

This is literally a fact of life in any city. I would not be surprised to discover that Dubai has most of these issues, despite being one of the richest cities in the world. It is a human condition. Treatable, but will never be curable.

So does it mean there is no hope? Anyway, how do you personally cope?

It is not a matter of delivering all, but those that you can. Even Jesus made no effort to cure these issues, only to provide a way to recognize them and alleviate what one can. He said, you will always have the poor with you.

Hahaha, you're funny 🤣.

Our country is superb. Let's continue enjoying it.

This is so sad. Do you have a specific example of any of those issues in your city? For example bribery and corruption

I consider myself a bit of a hermit, except when I go to work. Tucson has a massive homelessness issue, yet they continue to build expensive housing developments like crazy, while businesses close due to excessive theft by the homeless.

I never knew that a place like Tucson have this issue of homelessness. But there are real estate projects here and there?

Hundreds, if not thousands of homes being built. All of the LEASE or HOA (Home Owners Association) type, so you get to be told what you can and cannot do on your property, or be forced to leave it. True home owners are getting hard to find.

This is so sad. It will only increase the number of homeless people. Of course the home owners seem to get richer too

I thought it's Nigeria alone, you mean bribery and corruption including all listed above is affecting Dubai too

I would wager that you can go to any city in the world and you will hear people telling stories of such things somewhere around them. However, some places have less than others. The goal is to help one person, if you can, not to solve it.

you just said it all, to help if I can not to solve the problem because it's quite alarming in the world today

GainsDo you know that my country is extremely corrupt to the extent one can't walk on the road with his phone in his hand. Hahaha, if you doubt me, just try it and see if you'll come out to tell story of something inspired.

I am so happy to start this conversation on behalf of the host @bhetea01. Let me have your thoughts pls

Thank you sir @fokusnow everything is fixed. Let's hit the road guys

am glad you are back, welcome onboard

We are with you Sir. Let's keep

Check, I've dropped many

The rate on unemployment is very very high.
That's the sole reason why there are thieves,if they're busy working and not idle, nothing would prompt anybody to steal.

These are facts. How easy is it to find a job in your city as a graduate?

It is not easy at all!
And in my city nobody wants to hire because of the economy and that's discouraging for graduates.

Ignorance is also eating us up, I mean not wanting to know and the I don't care lifestyle is a kind of annoying decision

So, what's wrong with it? I think it's because such person's Don't want to suffer HBP

That is what is killing a lot of people. They are too scared to try out new things

That is terrible. Does that also affect young people in your city?

Cultism is also another huge problem over here, there are always clashes resulting in bloodshed and death

I thought its only in my city. Do they gain anything from this?

I can remember the day we will ran away from the junction of IFA due to the cultists guy's,

Everyone fear Nigerians are fraudsters

But, what do you think might have led to that?

All of this issues listed above is affecting my country. Let me talk about them one after the other .

Interesting, so which one is affecting badly? Tell me am listening

FOllow my threads as I tell about them in details.

Am following. Go ahead

Thanks for talking them one after the other. I am checking your response now

Alright. Keep tracking them.

At a time a mother do frauds to the son, wahala is too much

This is terrible. Seems like fraud is now systematic. Do you think the government also commit fraud?

chei!! Their own is senior level

Are you serious? Tell me about it a little

a child of 12 years will dupe the parents one

Hahahahahhaa. I hope you are not serious

serious ooo! When he tells his father he needs 12 thousands, for a textbook of 2 thousands, and father is curious that his son should not end up like him that is illeterate

Recently, I've heard about 3 cases where parents have sold out their children for huge sum of monemoney just to better their lives

Sold them out for money? Like they are not returning again? Thats terrible abuse

Imagine. no value for lives anymore

The rate they come out from under bridge very early in the morning, washing their faces and legs you will be afraid

I have never seen anything like that. I heard that there are some workers in big companies that still live under the bridge and go to work from there? Is that true?

Very true my brother, since their salary can't even feed them well

This is really terrible. It seems like many people are actually stuck in that situation

THe rate of unemployment in my country is too alarming. More than %80 of our graduates are left unemployed.

if you say 80% it means most are employed, but they are over 98%

Ohh my goodness!
This is very bad and not good for our country. This is so damaging to us.

the truth is that their is no Job in Nigeria for the graduate's. So, one needs to be creative and have products to sell

That's why many are learning hand work before going to school. Some have even decided not to go to school.

my dear, going to school is just to be learned and have your certificate not to have a Job. That's why you see undergraduate using graduates to make money in their offices

Over here, parents give birth to too many kids, I mean sometimes they counot take care oof these children

my sister, that's another child abuse giving birth to many children that you cannot train

That is a sad situation. Are they not aware of family planning?

I have a lady relate her experience when she was a kid. She said that as tender as she was she was hustling on the street. Unfortunately for her she was raped by an adult.
The pain of that sad memory still lives with her

such painful situations is had to forget. I feel her pains too

DO you know that the lady vowed to revenge this evil done to her.

how will she do that?? On a boy child or what it, she wants to kill the person who raped her? She should be careful not to rust in jail

Issue of bribery and corruption in today's world is alarming, even people in high places take the lead in activities as these

they are the leaders of corruption. It's hard to deal with here

Yaa Even people you have respect for, why is like that

Have you had any personal experience or hear of other peoples experience in that?

This topic is too good to miss. Expect different entries from my end

Welcome to the show my friend.

Thank you sir. Hope you're also ready to tell us tour own part of the story?

I have a lot to say. But as the host, I am struggling to reply all

Let me take the topic one-by-one so as not to miss any. Let me start from the one affecting my country badly which is bribery and corruption.

Oh this is a sad reality in many places. How does it happen in your city?

To get the answer, follow my thread as I will detail them

GainsBribery and corruption are now citizens of my country. Yea, for instance, you can't possess any position in government without bribe

GainsAs for our educational system, it's down on the ground because students in high school can't succeed or pass their courses without bribe

Really? So students have to pay in order to pass exams? Does the government know about it?

Who really is government?

And the worst aspect of it is that if you're a woman or lady, you must either sleep with the lecturer or you fail the course. Too bad

This is so terrible. So things like this happen just for students to pass courses?

Yea. And I wish I can stop
