I think it's awesome that you're backing your wife in that way which will be enriching for the both of you. I too would love to live in "Blighty" someday.
I spent 24 hours there back in 2017 on my way to Germany, and liked what I saw in Birmingham, which seemed a more mixed city, filled with different cultures.
The cost of living in the UK is much lower than it is here in the United States, so I could do more with less.
My friends say that Bath and Nottingham are nice, but for some reason none of them liked Hull. I was just happy to visit a country that I've loved from afar my entire life and someday home to visit again. Godspeed on your move! :)
