I saw the project in the Italian tv earlier this year or last year, can't remember exactly. Needless to day it's an amazing invention that can save a lot of people of extra spending. Imagine Scandinavian countries where growing fruits and vegetables is difficult due to weather conditions.
Not long ago I saw a similar project, not of this scale though in Svalbard, where obviously growing anything outside is impossible. The guy was growing herbs and spices at LED lights, using compost made of food waste gathered from the locals.
I'm all in favor of projects like these.

Climate controlled farming allows for fruits and vegetables to be grown in the desert or the cold and snowy climates. Suddenly a country like Russia can start massive food production where they were limited by nature.
The possibilities are tremendous.

I couldn't agree more. Italy has underground growing areas using places that have been unused.

I have a feeling that once things start going, it will be very quick.
We are still at the proof-of-concept phase although we could be nearing the end of that. A project this size is more than a test run.
