While in its infancy the space looks quite infantile, this is the way industries mature and innovate, a slow progression that advances infrastructure and product development to be more effective at capturing the market.
Funny it's been around for quite sometime now but you still consider it to be in its infancy, and I agree.
It'll probably progress a lot more slowly than people think and would like. As we've already seen a bit of acceptance from some govts, I predict it'll keep creeping up like that till people just get used to it without flashy headlines.
If you remember how long it went from bag phone to smartphone, the gap was about 2 decades and now, it is pretty much just improving smartphones. But, it built upon a lot of other systems to get there. How much have economies innovated and in what way? Most of it hasn't been in ways that support the endusers.
