CONTENT DIGESTION & CREATION: A MAJOR BOTTLENECK FOR NEWBIES RETENTION....

in LeoFinance7 days ago

These is what i have observed with newbies trying to get on board, of course they are very excited about the ecosystem and getting on board, but then they find it difficult to express themselves, if after all said and done they are able to create one or two blog post and did not get appreciated as is their perception they loose interest as say its not worth it.

I have a friend of mine who has been trying to create a post on hive, it took him like a whole week to be able to get words together and get appropriate picture for them, at first he did a write up of not up to a hundred word, at first when he showed me what he was able to script i gave him some few more tips on how to go about it, then he came up the next day, showing me what he had done and asked me how to get pictures for his post and i should guide him more, i gave him some more tips and told what to do.

One of those days while having a decent conversation with him about hive and how the ecosystem works, he and other of my friend, who is also at loose ends were just making fun of the whole thing, i just pause right there cause there is no point trying to talk to someone about what they don't have interest about....

I will delve in my experience here, when i started out during my early days at first i was excited about the whole thing, which was why i was hungry to know more, as my mentor just told me few tips which were engage other authors, digest their content and leave a meaningful comment, make good reply as well, do same in your own blog post, this simple words of advise is what has kept me on my feet till today.

Whenever i talk to newbies about content creation on hive immediately they look distorted, like its too much, how can one write up to 500 words how?.....its too much, so writing a word up to that amount look burdensome and is a big task for them, so they can't do that, they don't have the time, how can they crack their brain looking for words to make up....

But then i realise some of them rarely go through other authors work, which is very important, i would say to grow on hive demands personal commitment and effort , willingness to learn not just thinking of the good rewards but to understand that it requires hard work and consistency to grow a reputation.

I literally spend more time digesting other authors content because by doing so grants me access to their mind, their perspective, writing styles and format, narrative technique, writing to appeal the audience and making my content suitable in the community, so i learn everyday from others, i look out, i'm hungry to improve on my writing everyday, this has so helped shaped my own writing skills and my perspective on how to narrate a story and pass a message so anyone who come across my work.

I discover this and same goes to real life situations, whatever you do consistently gradually becomes very easy, so its like the more you do a thing the better you are it, most of us could recall when we try doing something for the first time, say learning to drive, but later on right now you can drive so free without panick.

I realise the more i continue in here the more i become better at writing, its that simple, because now, my ability to navigate through anything in my mind and having that ability to create a picture with the appropriate words becomes very easy now.

This is something most newbies are not willing to do sacrifices, patience to learn to learn, staying consistent and nurture growth, one cannot excel in a system were he or she have no clue about how things are done, every good thing in life takes time to build, and good enough hive provide an system that runs a kind of on-the-job-training , so one can fine-tune a writing skills simply by staying on board and growing in here, hive is a replica of real life scenerio were effort rewards are tide to intentional and purposeful Effort.
