This is how AI helped radically de-age Tom Hanks in the new movie Here

In Robert Zemeckis' new movie Here, AI was used to make Tom Hanks look younger, so the actors could actually see their younger selves in real time while they performed. A creative studio called Metaphysic pulled this off by blending AI tech with digital character work. It let the actors rehearse while watching a young Tom Hanks, like he looked in Big, but still captured all the real emotion of the scene.

Metaphysic’s VFX supervisor, Jo Plaete, and his team managed to run this setup live during filming, giving the actors a visual reference on the spot.
