Hiya and Happy New Year!
Here comes that time of the year when you write down your goals and resolutions and what's considered a cliché already and at the end of the first week of January it all goes away and you wait for the start of the next month or even the next year lol
I remember recording a vlog about resolutions a couple of years ago so I'll repeat it, fuck resolutions!
But writing down goals can be a good start if you stick to them!
It can be either big ones to accomplish during the year or something small to fulfil until the end of the week. One of my goals in a way this year is not to get too overwhelmed with stuff lol
But I'm trying to have bigger dreams and ambitions, manifesting and vision boarding things a try and one of the things I did was narrowing down my personal values and go from there
I found this free test online where I chose a million values and started to narrow them into 5 main ones:
- Growth
- Family
- Health
- Tolerance
- Inner harmony
For the next few days, I have some writing to do about these topics and see where it takes me!
But the first 3 are self-explanatory...I'm going into self-development stuff this year so I can work on my inner growth. There are soooo many fears within me that are stopping me to grow and do more awesome stuff! Something similar to my fear of writing blog posts and even recording videos that I had in the past when I first started here on Hive! I want to do the same in other aspects of my life!
Ah..Family..that was always my priority! I always put others first before myself when I should take care of myself first so I can be even better at taking care of others! That's where Growth comes in as well!
Health complements the other two...My biggest victory last year was reaching about 66 lbs lost and maintaining it! Adding more exercise as a habit was tricky so I will tackle that this year and I need to build more muscle!
I know I probably have to narrow down even more by being more specific with my goals ( with the S.M.A.R.T. method and such but that is also a challenge for me lol) but it's a start!
But I always considered January as a trial month so let's see how it goes!

Health - Honesty - Family - Security - Pleasure
These are what the test revealed for me.
It was a really trying test in the way it may you consider which value was more then the other. Comparing the values made you look at things differently & I had to keep asking myself 'do I rather have this or that'? I wanted both but I had to choose one.
I can see this as I am getting older & with health issues arrising over the last year or so, I have been heavily invested in my health. I don't have time for petty lies & demand honesty from others as well as myself. This has always be very important to me.
My family is of course important but it seems I'm doing more caring & giving now then I have all my life & all my children are well over 25. I thought at this time they would be taking care of me. Security, this is the one that surprises me a little but when I read what they say about it I understand why it makes the list. It has fallen naturally into place for me and I think I get more cautious about things every day. And last but not least** 'Pleasure'**.......
This is what I get up every morning for. The moments of the days where I can just delight myself in me & what I want to do. "Indulging in pleasure allows you to break away from your daily routine." This is what the results say, but I indulge in the pleasure of something nearly everyday. Being Retired & at home I like to take pleasure in all the free time I have. Someties, I just take a short nap, but the pleasure comes when I wake up & I don't have to rush for anyone else and I didn't miss or forget to do something for someone else. My pleasure is just ALL about ME!!
