It would be interesting to make a test with X amount of Hive and see the difference. When I have time I always prefer the long route but with Blocktrades I can even do it on the cellphone.

I do about 95% of stuff on my phone and on the go.
I have been wanting to do the same thing... run some BTC through an exchange and compare it with a quick trades Exchange. Calculate the fees and all that.
