Hello everyone, I know we are all familiar with the word “prayer” but, I want to ask this question, how often do we pray? Do we even remember to pray? How are we building our prayer life? I am not trying to sound too spiritual but at one point in my life I know all I need is prayer and To be very honest I forget to pray sometimes. I forget to pray when I want to sleep and when I wake up sometimes and this is not good. I noticed that I haven’t been consistent with prayer and I said to myself that I should pray more which is why I incorporated some habits. I know there is someone like me here who also needs this reminder.

Praying is an important part of life we shouldn’t miss or stop doing because it is an act of communication with God and we humans. I used to tell myself that if I couldn't go to church often at least five minutes of prayer was not too much. When we build a strong prayer life, we connect well spiritually. I have learned and also read about some tips that can help with being consistent with prayer and I’d like to share them. Though, I’m still in progress with learning and practicing. Number one on my list is setting a routine. When we build a specific time each day for prayer it really helps. As for me, I have been consistent with praying in the morning when I wake up and also praying in the night when I’m about to go to bed. The

Praying little by little has helped my prayer life. When I started praying little by little, with time the length of my prayer improved. It will be very hard for anybody who doesn't like prayer to start praying for hours, building gradually will not only help you but make you build a habit and another thing is Consciousness. I don’t know if this part is understandable, but let me explain. There was a time when I was praying, I was not always conscious and mindful. I’ll be praying and I’ll be thinking about something else. And the reason is because I’m not in full consciousness. When I practiced mindfulness it really changed my prayer life. It helped me to be present in the moment of prayer. I focused more on my feelings and words.

One of the major reasons why people don't pray is that they don't understand that life is a gift and they don't Practice gratitude. Practicing gratitude has helped me a lot, I say thank you for the littlest things. When we incorporate gratitude in our prayers it really goes a long way. Gratitude as saying thank you Jesus goes a long way. This way it will be easy for you to pray because there is always something to give thanks for. Practicing gratitude helps us with building such habits.

The last thing I would like to call our attention to is praying on the go. I don’t always have to be in a silent space or place before I pray. One thing I do often is pray silently. I offer silently prayers even when I’m doing the most random things like walking. This has helped me win the big fight over excuses and procrastination.

I want us to know that there’s no one way of communicating with God. You can try so many ways and stay consistent with the one that works for you best.
