He said he was going to declassify the JFK during his last term and, well, that didn't happen.
So I wouldnt hold my breath on this promise either.

Of course. And, like so many people making grand campaign promises, he would become very creative in finding excuses after getting elected.
With Trump he just ignores it like he didnt say it. It was really interesting to watch. He didnt even try to offer up excuses for some of the things he went back on. It was like he never said it.
Trump, on the other hand, like so many modern politicians, benefits from the short attention span among younger voters and 24/7 news cycles that make any statement and promise quickly irrelevant.
