2/ Thich Quang Duc, Buddhist monk who burned himself to death in 1963 Saigon, protesting persecution of Buddhists by South Vietnamese government led by Catholic president Ngo Dinh Diem.
3/ Norman Morrison, US peace activist who burned himself in 1965 in front of Pentagon, protesting the Vietnam War.
4/ Jan Pallach, Czech student who burned himself to death in January 1969 protesting 1968 Soviet invasion and occupation of Czechoslovakia.
5/ Mohamed Bouazizi, Tunisian street vendor who burned himself to death in December 2010 protesting harrasment by local officials. His act sparked protest that brought down regime of Zine el Abidine Ben Ali and sparked Arab Spring.
