On November 29, 2023, BREADS hosted an X space with 3k members participating(at the time I listened). The discussed topic was crucial, addressing the key elements essential for nurturing a thriving community.

The session covered aspects vital to sustaining a strong sense of community among its members.
In one way or the other, we've all come in contact with communities that couldn't stand the test of time. This lecture hammered greatly on those ingredients that a Community, especially in web2 and web3, needs to keep firm.
As I tuned in, the conversation delved into practical insights on building and maintaining community bonds. The engagement of 3k individuals showcased the widespread interest and acknowledgment of the significance of this subject.
How to keep your Community engaged after mint
A key focus during the discussion was the initial step in maintaining community engagement, emphasizing the importance of clearly communicating expectations and future plans post-mint. By establishing transparent guidelines, community members gain a clear understanding of what to anticipate, fostering a sense of direction.
You know, where people know their direction and destination, the journey becomes easy and smooth.
This proactive approach minimizes confusion during periods of inactivity, ensuring that everyone remains aligned with shared goals. By outlining expectations, the community is better equipped to stay engaged and focused, preventing misunderstandings during downtime.
The speaker pointed out a common issue: founders often hype up projects during minting, leading to unmet expectations. Clear community rules help everyone stay focused, preventing chaos during breaks. Many leaders struggle when initial excitement doesn't match the end result. Clear expectations not only aid community coherence during lulls but also avoid disappointment from exaggerated project promotion that falls short of anticipated outcomes.
Just yesterday while performing some tasks on X, I came across a company that their highly anticipated phone, came out and didn't meet the people's expectation. What a big turn down for such company!
To keep the community strong, it's crucial to balance commitments and avoid over-promising. This way, if unexpected issues come up, trust won't be lost, and the community won't break apart.
By setting realistic expectations, there's a safety net against potential letdowns. This balanced approach builds a foundation of trust, reducing the likelihood of the community falling apart when challenges arise. Finding the middle ground prevents exaggerated promises, ensuring resilience and maintaining trust, even in the face of unforeseen obstacles.
Engaging on chats between members and leaders
You know what?
THREADS, especially threadcast is thriving today because the leaders eyes are fixed on the comments of members. I heard that during one of the spaces held, gifts were given to engagers🥰.
When a community founder actively engages with members, it fosters a strong sense of belonging, encouraging them to stay involved. Imagine if the founder personally reached out, either anonymously or publicly, to express gratitude for a job well done. This recognition not only makes individuals feel appreciated but also inspires others to seek similar acknowledgment. It goes beyond mere rewards; it's about standing out and being noticed. By recognizing and appreciating members, founders not only reward hard work but also effectively promote their brand or business. Everyone craves recognition, and acknowledging efforts not only retains community members but also fuels a collective drive for success and promotion.
For community founders, expressing genuine care and active involvement nurtures a feeling of love and importance among members. Instead of relying solely on monetary incentives, forming connections through engagement proves more effective. When members sense they are valued beyond just rewards, their commitment stays strong. In contrast to a reward-focused strategy where interest wanes when rewards decrease, a community driven by genuine engagement flourishes on enduring connections and a shared sense of belonging. Prioritizing meaningful interactions over immediate rewards creates a foundation for sustained enthusiasm and loyalty within the community.
