Hey guys, in my last post here, I talked about how bad the economic state of my country, Ghana is. The value of the Ghana cedi has been decreasing at a faster rate than we can keep up with, and economic suffering and cost of living are suffocating Ghanaians. Not for long, it would turn out, as it seems after a year of being silent on the matter, our president has finally come out to speak up on the matter on the 30th of October.

This will be the speech that either gives my people hope or the one that informs us to brace ourselves for the worst. For both the sake of the president and the Ghanaian citizens, I hope it is the former. If the president has any hope of preventing an imminent demonstration against the government, this must the superhero speech that does it.
According to a report on myjoyonlinefm
Actor, Prince David Osei, says he will mobilise a non-partisan youth protest against President Akufo-Addo if the current economic challenges do not improve by December. According to him, the current state of the economy requires urgent actions to salvage the situation. He said:
“I decided to give you and your government the benefit of the doubt, I reckon was wrong! The Youth of this nation are not smiling, it pours, but we are still sweating. “If things don’t change by December, we will mobilise the youth of this country and hit the street irrespective of party affiliations, whether NPP, NDC, CQQ PNC whatever, doesn’t matter now, we are all in this together”.
This current government has put everyone that publicly vouched for them in shame. A lot of people who were strong advocates for the current government have either spoken up and asked the president to do something about our current predicament, or have run into hiding.
Even Samini, a popular musician here in Ghana took to Facebook and made his concerns public. He was one of the die-hard supporters of the current government, and I’m glad to see that he didn’t hide and cower like most others did. He made the post below on Facebook, calling the president on the need for improvement.

In anticipation, this address to the nation will be the most listened-to speech in Ghanaian history. Even the old and illiterate will be glued to their TVs and have the young and educated translate for them, because who can miss the update we have all been waiting for?
In a conversation with some of my friends last night, someone mentioned how there have been people talking about how if JJ Rawlings, one of the fiercest military governments Ghana has ever seen was alive, the country would be looking at a coup right now. And people say this because they know the love Rawlings had for the country, and that he wouldn’t just sit aside and watch the Ghanaian citizens suffer. Unfortunately, Rawlings died of COVID on 20th November 2020. There have even been conspiracy theories going around where claims have been made that Rawlings was killed and that COVID was just a means to an end (his end, unfortunately). The believers of this theory have the reasoning that the current president knew if things ever got this bad, JJ would press a coup and take the country, and that COVID was the perfect excuse to take him out.
Everyone in the country must be dying in anticipation of the good news the president has to give us on Sunday. If it is anything aside from good news, I fear for the fate of the country. I guess we just have to wait patiently and keep our fingers crossed for whatever is to come.

Seriously I don't see the benefit of this. He is going to come on out television and read to us a speech which has been prepared for him by her a party members. He is probably doing this to help his party's cause in trying to break the “8”.
Anyways let's wait and see what he will say.
There’s no breaking the 8 for NPP anymore. Trust me, if we don’t see a change in government in the next election, there will be a civil war here in Ghana. Ghanaians have had enough of this government. He has to go!
😂😂Haha, as they say , Ghanaians forget easily and I bet you with some cash they can easily vote them into power again.
Yeah probably. But trust me on this man, what Ghanaians have seen under this man, he’ll need more money than he has to be able to buy his way back into power.
😂😂Hihi, I was one of the people who said I wouldn’t vote in guys coming elections but I have changed my mind. I have to vote for change.
Things are getting worse everyday. Something you bought yesterday for 14 cedis will be 15 cedis when you go back. Even in some cases the price increases that same day.
I say eeh, in this Ghana now, once you buy something, if as much as a minute passes, you need to refresh before you buy it again because price will for sure increase.
I don’t like the long queue of election either, but if I have to spend the entire day in a queue, that’s exactly what I’ll do because it’ll take some weight off my conscience knowing that I had a part to play in bringing the right change of government to the country.
That’s exactly what I thought of. I don’t like the long queues either but it’s better to spend the whole day there trying to vote change than sitting at home wishing for the change.
He better have something encouraging and hopeful to tell the people of Ghana or else the necessary action will be taken.
He’d better!
This is the worst economic government our generation has ever seen...
Hmm. I think everyone admits that it this point. Let’s just pray whatever he has to say on Sunday, it’ll be good. If not, winter is coming for Ghana.
Fellow Ghanaians!😂
I rest my case.
😂😂
You’re laughing at your president.😅
“ You can do all the propaganda you want. But it’s the foundation is weak, the exchange rate will expose you.” I don’t know why this came to my head😂😂😂
But that’s exactly what we are seeing now. After all that plenty talk, look at what is happening.
I can’t believe we have 2 more years to go
Lol I haven’t heard that saying you quoted but it really does sound like what is going in. All that “We will arrest the dollar” talk was cheap and they’ve seen that running a country wasn’t just about cheap talk from the sidelines.
Hopefully things will recover for a bit by the time the 2 years ends and when we get a new competent government, things will sail smoothly once again.
It was the vice president that said it during the time he was giving lectures on how to arrest the dollar
Lmao that didn’t age well at all😂
Well let's wait and see if the talks can bring about some changes
That’s really all we can do. Wait and see, while praying for the best.

I think the president doesn’t give a shit about us Ghanaian people. He’s prolly going to speak big words and do nothing at the end. But let’s wait and see
