How do you trigger development in a place; good roads, electricity, security. At least these are the basics and things will start to flow in. People individually and collectively will start adding seasonings to that environment. One can say, who are this set of people? ‘where the carcass is there you will see the vultures’
I don't need to be a TOP notch entrepreneur, a conglomerate CEO, or a financial adviser to understand the need for monetizing. Yes, we keep pushing gradually for this height but even before getting there, we have learned a lot. What makes business business? ‘transactions’. Anything aside from this then it is just a show that will soon die down.
The fact is, no matter how long you TRY to sustain an unmonetized business, its end just keeps pending and yes, inevitable. The only solution here is realizing on time before everything gets too late. What has survived Google till date? You can imagine the billions of money that these conglomerates earn by making sure they monetize what they have to offer. advertising for monetizing is key; or whatever strategy you have for sustainability.

The lifeblood of business is cash flow be it in the online or offline environment. It has been one of those things I have written severally concerning Hive as an ecosystem. No man is an island of knowledge. I may not be that web dev guru or that top notch programmer but when it comes to how to keep a business going, I don't think I should be entirely underestimated. At least I have had half a decade experience of running my offline business with ups and downs in-between.
Where am I heading here? Ok, many are beginning to get worried about the future of Hive as an ecosystem. Will it ever bounce back to live out that sustainable ecosystem many were expecting and have been building for years? It has been that season where many are not able to endure anymore. It has been a bad price swing and if one is to ask me, personally I wouldn't say the top concern is really that price but rather flywheels that can sustain an ecosystem during downtimes.
I keep saying it, ‘THE GROWTH OF HIVE AS AN ECOSYSTEM IS DEPENDENT ON ENTREPRENEURS’. Beyond top notch programmers and developers which yes I can say are of importance, a stage must be set for individuals and collective entrepreneurs to thrive.
Even the government knows these skills. Recently, our state playground and relaxation centre was refurbished. What was the vision? To attract entrepreneurs during this Christmas festive season.
Did it work out? ALL the kiosks have been leased out and I can't say they have been able to cover up all expenses but we even have to understand that it was the government responsibility to keep that place to standard and they’ve done that without being the entire spenders.
They will be benefiting from that refurbishing for at least another steady five years because as long as that place has standard; good road linkage, security, electricity and the rest, entrepreneurs will always pay.

Who are entrepreneurs? People that stake something in a place because there is something tangible to benefit. When it comes to stakes, I am not talking about pouring in that capital and waiting for the market to 10x or 100x, NO. What I mean here is pitching your business tent for profit beyond market price swings and yes, complying with minute taxes to keep the cycle going.
Have we been able to achieve this on Hive? It depends on if we can answer these follow up questions; ‘how are entrepreneurs prioritized here’. Most times the big talks are about tech discussions to show how technological exposed one is; good but not good enough.
Does Mark Zuckerberg spend time explaining lines of code to advertisers? Do they care? Everyone is looking for a perfect place to pitch their tent; keep the codes. Hive must be seen as a business and even adding, a business beyond just the virtual realms (maybe taking advantage of other online ecosystems or completely downloading revenues from the offline space.
This is a big leverage if we can take advantage of this. The value of Hive is dependent on its usability and broad exposure; both former and latter are activities of an entrepreneur. Does this ecosystem really affect the offline environment? Have we considered how much can be brought in from here?
To conclude, let me add, there is so much to stage by stage expound upon (maybe a later follow up article). We have to look at how the government easily attracted the crowd by first focusing on a specific set of people; the entrepreneur. We have to understand that an entrepreneur is like a hub because of what to offer. Of course the sugar brings the ant and the environment becomes busy.
This ecosystem must raise and prioritize entrepreneurs (especially those who can feed in from the offline sectors). It is these daily transactions that will bring both trade volumes and liquidity. In short, if we are looking for investors, the true investors are entrepreneurs. There is a future for Hive, it just needs some restrategizing.
