The difference between one business and another is not what they are doing basically but rather how they are doing it. We learn daily and I have come to realize standing out as a brand is dependent on how you will be doing business. Let's take for instance, over here, a full twenty litres of water from the bore hole can be sold for N30 to N50 for the locals. A sachet of water at 60cl is also sold at same price and even going further, a bottle water at 50cl is sold for N200, N300 or N500 depending on locations.
The first thing to consider is that they are all selling water but in different standards with limitations also surrounding it. The first person is limited by environment while the second and third are not. The second is not much standardized to meet some tactical opportunities while the third can. While the first will continue overtime without much result, just a hand to mount activities, the other two are visioneers, seeing water as a big business. Until you see what you are doing on a bigger scale, it becomes difficult to advance.
That was just by the way, pushing further, my aim this year is centered on advertising and contracts. Without doubt, advertising in business should not be underestimated, how do people know what you are doing if you don't do well to put it in their eyes on a daily basis? Many don't understand that technology has introduced to us a global market, it becomes easy to get things to the outside world for free or with little effort if I should add.

I never really understood why big companies throw out the big money to secure an advert spot until I came to realize that a single click can cover advert cost plus interest.
This is where I am trying to make my entire business more meaningful. What am I advertising and how is business done over here?. This is what I have to center my advertisements on. Are we selling bucket water? Sachet water or bottled water? It's just an example to consider. Many people stay in business for years and the result is always hand to mouth. Of course I know it is not everyone that is interested in business, some is just for the meantime. Nevertheless, those who wish to aim higher have to think outside the box.
One of the easiest ways to scale in business is to become a business to companies or 'company to companies'. Let me break it further. For example, you sew cloth? Who are you sewing for? Perhaps for individuals. So how can this business advance? It becomes very difficult here because you are dependent on individuals to make this happen. Let's look from another lens. You are still sewing clothes but this time around you are open for contract work which includes getting bulk work from companies or organizations, you get it now right?
The same revenue the first struggles to get in six months can be summarized by the latter in just a single contract. These are the two strategies (contract and advertising) I want to merge this year and I know it is going to work. It will come at the cost of having all the necessary equipment to meet up.

This has been something I have been working on since last year and we've been able to ascertain a reasonable height. My introduction of business this year is going to change. It not just what we do but rather how big we are doing it. You must understand this, many people are likely to do the same thing yet only few will do it in a bigger and broader way.
Business is about having tactics that can hedge you during competitions. The market may be flooded yet when you understand how to navigate, you will come out successful. We are now after the big fishes. I feel it is an opportunity to enlarge my business capacity and also thrust our business into new grounds. It is all about mindset, I strongly believe we can achieve this through proper advertising strategy as we also in the process maintain a satisfying service.
To conclude, let me add, pulling the right strings this year will be a game changer. It is not a new year resolution thing, it is something I had earlier planned on which I feel the right time is now courtesy of what we've been able to introduced into business thus far. Entrepreneurship will remain a lucrative ground for those who are ready to dare big things. Having a tangible return on investment on a monthly or yearly bases will help determine how far and how fast we can meet our targets.
Advertising is a big industry and so also is contract work. I will take advantage of the social media industry, work with some marketers and also see how to brand each delivery to get the needed attention. It is going to be a stressful one yet I have to admit, the result will be worth it.
