It was a wonderful initiative, and I am sad to see the end of it... but I can also well appreciate how it would be a "time hog" and we need to attend to life outside the blockchain.

I have always felt that engagement is the best way to grow a strong community... and engagement is best developed by having systems that reward engagement. I hope something else comes along to take up some of the void left behind.
