Sorry to be a pessimist, but what good is a "40% APY" if the token is declining by 50%, year-over-year (not talking about a specific project, just in general)

Sort:

Depends upon the long term outlook. Bear markets can often destroy the price of a token. However, if down, the APR helps to offset the loss, making the bull even more profitable.

If a garbage project, well then it might be 40% on something heading to zero.

Some are clearly worse than others. Fundamentals matter. You have to know whether you've got a hold of an Amazon or a Pets.com.

I agree with @taskmaster4450le

The bear market can even look like a project is going to zero, but when the bull comes, then it rise like a phenix (as Tenacious D put it). Just look at $ALGO - I had lost hope, but suddenly... looks fairly promising now.

Well said. I remember during the roughest time when quite many were ready to declare Solana dead, even here. Since then SOL has made a nice recovery. Dammit. Should've...you know!😀

When $SOL fell down, I was sure it wouldn't go below $20 (I had been doing crypto about 2 months at the time). Then it fell to $12.. and then $8. At $12 I thought about buying a bunch. Was happy I didn't... until now ^^

I remember all those prices, was following it closely at the time and thinking about getting some... but Twitter was raging, "SOL is the next to die!"...so left it be and work happily at McDonald's 😂

Yeah, that too.. but then again, they're still going on about that. I'm not reading much on X anymore, only a few is actually worth reading content from.

How do you say "sun" in Finnish?

Cut down on X too, it's just too overwhelming.

Sun = Aurinko

You know $AAVE? That's a Finnish crypto, and it means 'Ghost'. So it's a 'ghost protocol'. Guess they are Mission Impossible fans...

WTH?! That is a long word for Sun 😆 In Danish sun = Sol.

Pretty cool with $AAVE - I've been bullish on that for the past 8 months or so. Not always reasonable by me though, it did have some dips 😝

depends when yo ubuy and sell

Obviously it's not good lol.

If you can't explain why users will consistently buy the new tokens that the protocol is printing to pay the APY, then avoid.
