RE: CreativeCoin: The Tribe that Gave Up

in LeoFinance4 years ago

As I recall, the original INTENT was for the Creative Coin Community to be a hub for artists, musicians and other creatives on Steemit Hive.

Typically content covered

  • Art
  • Music
  • Photography
  • Creative Writing
  • Poetry
  • Digital Art

And I think there might have been a few others.

Content was actively curated and moderated for relevance and yes, there were a few skirmishes with people who felt they should be allowed to post "whatever," and there were questions of the "freedom" of a blockchain community. Which always leads me back to the simple question of WHY someone would join a knitting club to talk about car repair?

Because "Creativity" covers a wide range, the "heading" invites sub-communities, for example along the lines of the list, above.

So far, the only Hive community (that I know of) that has somewhat done this successfully is Natural Medicine, which also has a Spanish language subgroup, a "Homesteading" subgroup, an affiliation with the "Abundance" tribe and so on. They have an 8-member team, an active Hive community page AND their own front end; four distinct weekly curation posts/areas and regular community initiated contests/challenges. It's an interesting group in that they have 2900 subscribers, but not a super-large flow of posts because it's very niche.

Anyway, just thinking out loud, for the moment...
