i really read a lot about the subject because i wrote a story about the origin of dragons and how they really lived in our world. it was for an animation that only had the pilot project developed but i did a lot of research into real legends!
My conspiracy theory is that The Bermuda Triangle location is the portal to Alien reality and That's probably why most plane and ship that's go through that part disappear.
