Question:

Why, when there is something of interest to everyone going on, is it done on Discord and not on-chain? Shouldn't this be in a centralized solution, not requiring 'yet another' place off-chain to go? Just curious

Sort:

All we can do is support those using the platform with our stake.

Your allocation of the rewards pool, your witness votes and DHF votes.

I know it sucks for little guys when competing with the Hive elite who so often seem to not have the chain's best interests at heart.

But it's all we can do.

That's what TM is often questioning. Most people spend time on Discord but not on threads or on peakd's Sting chat feature at least for if people want to talk about private stuff.

All most everything can be done on-chain. Ok, sometimes it gets difficult to 'follow' discussions, at least for me, but that can be solved.

Yes. But people still love Discord. 😅

Yeah, I get that. I use it for other aspects. Mostly with groups in SE Asia or gamers. It just seems odd that some of the most important aspects that people here need to be involved with, goes to Discord.

You can't reward engagement on Discord.

It requires people to leave the chain, and, that discussion is 'lost' to anyone that that doesn't use it. How does this make sense in a 'community' that wants MORE engagement?

I think it's still a big 'comfort' thing for a lot of people. They are used to chatting on web2 stuff. The thing I always like to say is once their friends and family are on web3, they will be all the time too.

So......Question coming..

How do we get Uncle Bob and Grandma Jean here to web3 things like $HIVE and $LEO

THAT's the million dollar question!

But if you continue to use outside arenas for primary aspects - discussions on new development, etc., then 'why' would people actually need to leave Web2 to be involved?

Be a product OF the product

Dude you know that's been a mantra of mine for decades lol We have to lead by example, being a product of our product shows the world we practice what we preach

I agree, support those that are using the resources on-chain. @jongolson is one good example. Uses Threads for discussion, and Vimm for video. It freaking works!

So many ways on this blockchain to literally...Stay on chain. I get the wanting to reach out of the echo chamber and all...But for the engagement side of things, it's all possible here.

That's what I'm saying!!! Bring it all here to Threads!

Discord kills unicorns!!

You MUST show people that you believe in the product/platform BEFORE they will be willing to join.

I'm tagging @taskmaster4450le in this cause I wanna hear his input when he wakes up ;)

LOL Hell yeah! Come on @taskmaster4450le Let'ss rock this!
