X, ex-Twitter, ends his activity in Brazil and blames Alexandre de Moraes
X's Global Government Affairs Account announced this Saturday (17/8) that X, formerly Twitter, has closed its operations in Brazil, with immediate effect. In the network's official profile, responsibility for the closure is attributed to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The justification for closing activities was “fear of threats”. Furthermore, the account says: “The responsibility lies exclusively with Alexandre de Moraes”.
Despite the closure of activities in Brazilian territory, X will continue to be available to the population.
