The BC (Central Bank) reported the leak of personal data from 53,383 Pix keys that were under the responsibility of Qesh Payment Institution. The leak occurred due to specific failures in the company's systems, according to the monetary authority.
In a note released this Monday (30), the BC informs that sensitive data, such as passwords, information on transactions or financial balances in accounts, or any other information under banking secrecy were not exposed.
"The information obtained is of a registration nature, which does not allow movement of resources, nor access to accounts or other financial information", he says.
All people who had their registration data obtained as a result of the incident will be notified through the application or through the internet banking of their relationship institution.
The BC warns that other means of communication - such as messaging applications, phone calls, SMS or email - will not be used to communicate with users affected by the incident.
"The BC informs that the necessary actions were taken to investigate the case in detail and the sanctioning measures provided for in current regulations will be applied", it states.
