October 28
I've seen some huge comebacks happen in sports but the Yankees are coming dangerously close to going down 3-0 in this series and they will have to win four in a row with the last two games being in Los Angeles. That will be a tough nut to crack even for the mighty Yankees. Homers alone will not win it all and why they haven't won the World Championship in years. Still more by miles over everyone else in the history of the game but it's been years since the last one.
There is still time to come back in this one and if anyone can do it then it would be them with those monsters Judge, Stanton and Soto but they will need the rest of the squad to step it up ASAP.
Botafogo

Chiefs bolster pass rush, trade for Patriots' Joshua Uche
The Kansas City Chiefs acquired pass rusher Joshua Uche in a trade with the New England Patriots, coach Andy Reid confirmed Monday.
The Patriots received a 2026 sixth-round pick in the trade, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Uche was a healthy scratch for the Patriots' 25-22 victory over the New York Jets amid trade interest for the fifth-year outside linebacker.
#football #nfl #patriots #chiefs #trade #sports
Uche, 26, has two sacks in six games this season and 20.5 sacks in his career.
Uche re-signed with the Patriots as a free agent before the season on a one-year, $3 million contract. He will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.
It's the second impact trade made by the Chiefs (7-0), who acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in a deal with the Tennessee Titans last week.

Sources: Giants QB Daniel Jones not on short leash vs. Steelers
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones took all the first-team reps at practice this week and is not expected to be on a short leash Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers despite getting pulled in the fourth quarter last week, multiple sources told ESPN.
Jones went to the bench in a 28-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and was replaced by backup Drew Lock. Coach Brian Daboll said he was looking for a "spark." It didn't happen. Lock went 3-of-8 passing for 6 yards.
#football #nfl #sports #danieljones
A handful of Giants players told ESPN this week they weren't pushing for a permanent change at quarterback entering the Monday night matchup. Jones is their starter. Several players did note that it might be different if Tyrod Taylor were still on the roster. He's not. It's still Jones' team.
Taylor was the backup each of the past two seasons. He signed with the New York Jets this offseason.
It has been a struggle for Jones and the 2-5 Giants, especially at home. They've scored just one offensive touchdown in four home games. Jones has six touchdown passes and four interceptions in seven starts this season. New York has the 31st-ranked scoring offense averaging 14.1 points per game entering Monday night.
Jones was not happy with the situation after the Oct. 20 loss and throughout this week. He's trying not to think what happen if he struggles on Monday night or moving forward.
Tom Kim apologizes for damaging locker door after loss in playoff
Golfer Tom Kim apologized Monday for damaging a locker door following his playoff loss to Byeong Hun An in the DP World Tour's Genesis Championship in his native South Korea.
In a statement posted to his Instagram account, Kim said that he didn't intend to damage the door Sunday and that he offered to pay for its repair. Kim said he apologized to the DP World Tour and the Korean PGA Tour, which co-sanctioned the tournament held at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon.

Penn State QB Drew Allar could be game-time call vs. Buckeyes
Penn State coach James Franklin said Monday that quarterback Drew Allar's status for fourth-ranked Ohio State could be a game-time decision.
Allar suffered a left knee injury late in the first half of Saturday's 28-13 win at Wisconsin. Allar tried to play to begin the second half, but after warming up he told Franklin that he didn't think he could be effective enough playing through the injury.
#pennstate #football #nfl #drewallar #ncaa
Sophomore backup Beau Pribula replaced Allar in the second half and completed 11 of 13 passes with a touchdown.
Franklin said that Allar and Pribula could both get snaps in Tuesday's practice but that the team would wait until Saturday before making a starting quarterback decision.
"That timeline will go all the way up to the game," Franklin said.
Allar ranks 10th nationally with a QBR of 83.6. He has completed 71.3% of his passes for 1,640 yards and totaled 15 touchdowns with four interceptions.
The third-ranked Nittany Lions (7-0) have lost seven straight games to the Buckeyes.
Roy Keane gives 14-word verdict in bizarre Instagram post after Manchester United sack Erik ten Hag
Roy Keane delivered a seemingly cryptic message on Instagram just hours after Manchester United sacked Erik ten Hag.
The Premier League giants announced on Monday morning that the Dutchman has left the club after a little over two seasons in charge.
#roykeane #manchesterunited #football #epl
Ten Hag's exit came the day after United suffered a fourth Premier League defeat of the campaign in a 2-1 loss away at West Ham.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was previously his assistant but has now been placed in interim charge of his former club.
Speculation over Ten Hag's future at Old Trafford had been rife for months despite him extending his contract to 2026 in the summer.
News of his dismissal may therefore not have come as a shock to fans, and hours after the announcement Keane gave fans his views, albeit in slightly bizarre circumstances
In a post on Instagram, where Keane's out in the countryside with his hood on his coat over him, the club legend said: "In good teams, coaches hold players accountable. In great teams, players hold players accountable."
Vasco
Frank Warren backs Tyson Fury’s attempt to become first heavyweight to break unique record with Oleksandr Usyk plan
Frank Warren insists Tyson Fury could meet Oleksandr Usyk in a trilogy, breaking a remarkable heavyweight record.
Fury is set to rematch Usyk on December 21 for the chance to avenge his first career defeat, after he was outpointed by the Ukrainian in their undisputed clash in May.
#frankwarren #tysonfurry #boxing #sports
The 'Gypsy King' revealed this week that he intends to pursue a third meeting if he levels the playing field with a win, a trilogy which would be his third as a heavyweight.
He would become the only blue-riband competitor to have fought in three trilogies with a world title involved in each, given his previous sagas with Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder.
He said: "I'm sure Tyson said that himself and that is exactly what it will be and what can happen.
"And I do believe he will beat him [to set up the trilogy]. I go back to that first fight with Deontay Wilder which I believed he won but was scored a draw.
Patrick Mahomes passes Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger on QB list with Raiders win and has Tom Brady in sight
Patrick Mahomes continues to build upon his Hall of Fame worthy career.
'Showtime' moved to 11-2 all-time against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, throwing for 262 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a 27-20 win.
#nfl #patickmahomes #peytonmanning #benroethlisberger #sports
Entering Sunday's AFC West grudge match, Mahomes had a .792 winning percentage [95-25 (80-22 in regular season, 15-3 in postseason)] as a starting quarterback in his first eight NFL seasons.
With the victory, Mahomes (81 wins) surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning (80 wins) and Ben Roethlisberger (80) for the third-most regular-season wins by a starting quarterback in his first eight seasons in NFL history.
Only Tom Brady (86 wins) and Russell Wilson (86) have more.
Mahomes (96 wins) also surpassed Steelers star Wilson (95 wins) for the second-most wins, including postseason, by a starting quarterback in his first eight seasons in NFL history.
With 59 seconds left in the game down and down by five points, the Ravens had three attempts to find the end zone but ultimately failed to come up with the go-ahead score.
Cleveland was able to close out the game and pull off the improbable victory -- just their second of the season as they improved to 2-6.
Patrick Mahomes Details How He Got Drafted by KC Chiefs - Sports Illustrated Kansas City Chiefs News, Analysis and More
On the New Heights podcast, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes explains how he got drafted by the team.
The Kansas City Chiefs trading up to select Patrick Mahomes back in the 2017 NFL Draft is arguably the best decision in franchise history, as the move finally landed the team an all-world quarterback it had been needing for decades. Stories about how current general manager Brett Veach played a critical role in the picking of Mahomes are well known, but Mahomes recently shed some brand-new light on the process as well.
#patrickmahomes #chiefs #nfl #sports
On a new episode of the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, Mahomes joined his Chiefs teammate and the Philadelphia Eagles' star offensive lineman to discuss a multitude of topics. Among them was how Mahomes ended up in Kansas City and, as it turns out, there was an unsung hero who helped make the union happen. Quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy gave Mahomes the answers to Andy Reid's pre-draft visit test, and Mahomes explained the entire thing in full.
"The first day that I met coach Reid was at the facility — we have the meetings, the top-30 visits," Mahomes said. "That was the first time I really met him. At that time, there was no time limit, so I was in there for like five hours. He's just going through plays. I'm going to just give you all the inside scoop. Matt Nagy, who's our quarterbacks coach now, was our offensive coordinator then. He really liked me, so he gave me the plays they were going to go over the night before. So coach Reid's finding out here live on the New Heights podcast.
"So, of course, I crushed the meeting. I stayed up all night studying those plays. The rest was history, man. I met coach Reid, he went over the plays, we went and had some lunch. He had a couple of cheeseburgers and then we went back and I looked back on the board and I had seen that I was a guru, in a sense, because I knew every single play and every check."
Those top-30 visits, of course, don't guarantee that a team is dead-set on a player. Oftentimes, they're used to complete scouting profiles or help decide where (or whether) a player should slot in on that respective club's draft board. In Mahomes's case, however, that initial meeting with Reid all but ensured that Kansas City was thoroughly impressed with the former Texas Tech standout. With some assistance from Nagy, Mahomes made a tremendous first impression.
Once Mahomes had endeared himself to the Chiefs organization, the next step was for Kansas City to figure out how to get him in the draft. The feeling of interest was mutual, but Mahomes admitted on the podcast that other teams were also fans of his and were considering adding him into the fold early on. In the days and weeks before the draft, Mahomes went from feeling that he'd be a late first-round pick to a potential top-half selection. That ended up being the case, although Mahomes and his camp played a notable role in making the trade-up from pick No. 27 to 10 happen. The rest is history.
"I kind of gave a little inside info to the Chiefs and was like 'Hey, if y'all let me go 12 or below, I'm going to get drafted by someone else.' So I gave the Chiefs a little bit of info on that because I wanted to be here. I don't know who was at 12 that time, but I knew right around there was where I was going to get drafted. My agent talked to Brett Veach and the Chiefs' staff. I remember at about pick nine or 10, Veach sent my agent a little picture of a Red Raider with the 'Guns Up,' so I knew the Chiefs were drafting me."

Jameis Winston proves he’s answer to Browns’ $230m quarterback problem with stunning performance vs Ravens as Lamar Jackson makes history
Jameis Winston's first ever start for the Cleveland Browns was an instant classic.
Winston, starting because of Deshaun Watson's Achilles tear, orchestrated an incredible second-half comeback against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, throwing for 334 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions in a 29-24 win -- one of the biggest upsets of the NFL season so far.
#jameiswinston #browns #ravens #lamarjackson #nfl #sports
The Browns trailed Baltimore 23-24 in the AFC North slug fest with just over a minute to go in the fourth quarter.
The Ravens, who entered Sunday in sole possession of first place in the division, held a one-point lead after running back Derrick Henry's 2-yard run and Justin Tucker's point-after kick.
The Browns then started on their own 31, and Winston connected with wide receiver Cedric Tillman on a 2nd-and-15 for a 38-yard TD, Tillman's second score of the day.
Snooker player saved by former world champion after arriving at tournament without cue
Snooker star Noppon Saengkham had his blushes spared shortly before his opening match at Northern Ireland Open.
The Thai player bizarrely arrived at the tournament without the most vital piece of kit – his cue.
#snooker #sports #saengkham
After realising it had gone missing in transit during his journey from Manchester to Belfast, Saengkham pleaded for help from his peers, which initially fell on deaf ears.
His failure to secure a replacement cue left his first-round match against Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in serious doubt, until one star came to his rescue.
Cue the emergence of triple crown-winning great Shaun Murphy, who came up trumps for Saengkham with time running out.
The 32-year-old paid an immediate debt of gratitude to Murphy before going on to win his opener 4-3.
"I have to really thank Shaun because I asked a few other players, but they couldn't lend me a cue because they were practicing," said Saengkham.
"Then I saw Shaun and he gave me his cue this morning.”
Murphy later revealed that his act of kindness came at the expense of his own match preparations.
Travis Kelce celebrates National Tight Ends Day by continuing to haunt Raiders and setting NFL record
Of course Travis Kelce's first touchdown of the season came on National Tight Ends Day.
The score came when Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes found Kelce in the end zone on a third and goal with just under two minutes to go in the second quarter of Kansas City's 27-20 win against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
#traviskelce #nationaltightendsday #nfl #sports #chiefs #raiders
Incredibly, it was the three-time Super Bowl's first TD of the season. Rather aptly, it came against a bitter division rival on the day the NFL celebrates the game's tight end position.
Kelce became just the fifth tight end in NFL history to hit 75 receiving touchdowns and moved solely into fifth place for career TDs by a tight end, breaking a tie with Jason Witten.
He finished the game with 90 yards on ten receptions for one touchdown.
Kelce loves playing against the Raiders and continued to haunt them throughout the first half.
After catching a pass from Mahomes, who set his own history on Sunday, on a second and two in the second quarter, Kelce took the outright lead for most receptions all-time against the Raiders.
It gave him 115 receptions against the Black & Silver all-time, one more than fellow TE and franchise legend Tony Gonzalez.
Antonio Gates (111) and Keenan Allen (106) are third and fourth on the list respectively for most receptions against Las Vegas.
Dallas Cowboys face ghosts of NFC past after Jerry Jones fortnight of despair
Perhaps the last place Jerry Jones would want his Dallas Cowboys returning from their bye is San Francisco.
The Cowboys sit at 3-3 but coming off their break things feel a little worse - as is the case for 'America's Team' it tends to be feast or famine.
#nfl #sports #dallas #cowboys #jerryjones #sanfrancisco
The Sunday Night Football cameras will be at Levi's Stadium as an injury-hit 49ers play host to the Cowboys and neither team have a winning record - a far cry from the NFC Championship rivalry games of the 1990s.
The teams won eight of their 10 Super Bowls in the 80s and 90s, but both teams Lombardi trophy will be 30 years or more when this season's champion is crowned in New Orleans.
The Cowboys last win was in 1995, while the 49ers came one year earlier in 1994.
While the title drought for both goes on, the 49ers have been serious contenders with two trips to the Super Bowl as NFC champions in the last five seasons, and two more appearance's in the Conference Championship.
The Cowboys have not been back in the Championship round since 1995.
Why World Series games start at unusual times with MLB showpiece given unique first pitch
The MLB World Series is underway but the showpiece games have been scheduled for unusual times.
The New York Yankees and the Los Angles Dodgers are clashing in the championship match-up that everyone wanted to see.
#worldseries #mlb #yankees #dodgers #mlb #sports
They are going head-to-head as both look to replicate last year's champions, the Texas Rangers.
The series will be played over seven games and as fans get excited to watch the action, some may be confused by the strange start times...
Why are World Series games starting at unusual times?
Each game of the Dodgers vs Yankees World Series will start at eight minutes past the hour.
This is a unusual time to start a game considering most other sporting events start on the hour, or at quarter past, half past or quarter to the hour.
But in the USA, it is actually not too strange as it's been the case for a long time.
It is because in the US, broadcasters that start at 8pm are allowed to have a few minutes build-up, analysis and an advert before the game.
Also in that time, the national anthem is usually sung and the opening ceremonies or ceremonial first pitch take place.
I’m a four-time All-Star with 340 homers but blew fortune on 18 luxury cars and had to sell $2.4million mansion – I have no regrets
Jack Clark used to be one of the most feared right-handed sluggers in the National League.
Known as 'the Ripper', the four-time All-Star hit 340 home runs in an 18-year MLB career.
#mlb #sports #jackclark #baseball
Clark won the Silver Slugger Award in 1985 and 1987 while on the San Francisco Giants.
His reputation saw him walked 1,246 times by pitchers.
“One hell of a hitter, he puts the fear of God in you when he comes up to bat," said his St. Louis Cardinals manager Whitey Herzog.
"He’s a good guy to have on your club, in your clubhouse.”
Earning over $10million in his career, Clark could have been set for life.
But in 1992 - in the middle of a three-year $8.7million contract with the Boston Red Sox - he ended up filing for bankruptcy in 1992 with $6.7million debts.
The batter's love for fast cars was behind his financial struggles.
Clark set up his own drag-racing business, which he lost along with a $2.4million California mansion.
His outrageous car collection also had to go.
According to Sports Illustrated, a $700,000 1990 Ferrari F-40 was the highlight of a fleet of 18, which also included a 1989 Ferrari Mondial, and 1992 Mercedes 500 SL Coupe - each worth over $100,000.
"This shows everybody what can happen to you if you don't manage your money well," Clark said at the time. "I did it to myself."
