Yesterday we went for a Pani Puri shop which was little far from our place and it was late night. The Pani Puri guy was packing but he offered us since we went to eat that. After we are done, he started packing and then we started talking with him about his family and other things. And then we asked him why his pani puri has different taste than others.

He said that he is actually a cook in the Air Force and in the evening he sells Pani Puri. Since he is a cook, he can find the better taste for his pani puris. I asked him which job he likes the most, he said that selling pani puri is what he liekd because that's his business and he can scale that but for job it is a limited scope and thus he have to maintain the timings. Also he earns more in his pani puri business.
So he is actually doing 2 jobs for supporting his family. One job which is giving him monthly salary whereas one business which he can work on his term and earn a good amount of money if he scales. But still there is a stability in his job and that's why he is continuing that. For business, even though he earns more he keeps it as a side income.
I know it is actually hectic to do 2 jobs but think about it, for his pani puri business, he can reduce the hours if he thinks that he is burning out. So one think I learnt is that you have to have a secondary income along with your main income which will help you to earn more as well as take the risk in future. Now tomorrow if something happens in his job, he has the business to rely on.
