That sucks with the new laptop. I'm going to get myself a new SSD for one of my old work laptops that's newer than the one I use on the daily and going to flip that thing into a Linux sexy beast, so hopefully that stuff runs smoothly! The Keychain browser extension for Brave works really well for me.. so hopefully you can figure yours out!

Yeah, it was hilarious hearing about it around the time of the fork and even after, honestly. I think it was 6 months ago or so where I saw some mumbles about it lol I was thinking "is that horse beat dead enough yet..?" but apparently not!
